How to create space for a jumpshot 1 on 1?

The CPU seems to be glued to the face of anyone who has the ball. So much I have seen FAR to many PG, SG getting blocks on straight jump shots.

Now I am not looking for a, "well you should run this play," type of an answer because I have the plays that I like set.

What I am looking for is what guys like Paul Pierce, T-Mac, Bron Bron, Kobe, Michael Redd do. They break down their opponent and pull up for a jump shot of the dribble. I cant seem to replicate this for the life of me in this game.

No matter what I do it seems like the CPU recovers instantly to be right back in the face of my shooter. Hell even when I seem open I miss the shot horridly and the commentator mentions that I just "put up a pray," even though it was a jump shot from the free throw line.

Also on a slightly related note. How do you get your players to move around a lot by themselves? Like if I dribble around with the PG for a little while one of my guys will come of a pick from someone else and flash for a jump shot. How do I make this happen more?

Step back jumper is your friend.

    On Xbox360, press the following:

Run towards rim with ball and then move right analog stick away from rim while pressing Y button.

That isn't impossible if you hold the controller oddly, but I think he meant the left analog stick while pressing the Y button, as to perform a step back.

I personally use screens and triple threat moves to create room for a jumpshot. Sometimes I'll use an isomotion move and pull up right in their face and they don't react quick enough.

Do hesitation moves (RT) or try to break down your defender (LT). Bad defenders will usually go out of position for a split second as you do that, allowing you to get a good look at the basket.
