How do you move players from a created team to a current team

How do you move players from a created team to a current team?
I downloaded a few classic teams- 00 Pacers, 03 Nets, etc.
but they have generic unis.

If I want to take the classic created players and move them over to the current Nets and Pacers (put Reggie Miller on Pacers, Kittles on Nets, etc.),
it won't let me trade/assign/release them. They are locked into the created team!

Is there any way to do this?
Otherwise we have to play with generic unis?

Also, I do see that some created teams like the '95 Rockets DO have the correct unis AS a created team.
How was this done?

Take the created team into season or Association and move them around there. Export the team. I'm pretty sure that will work.

But then the problem is that you will still have that created generic team in your association or season, right?

Start an Association w/ the generic team and the desired team both being user-controlled. Move the players on the generic team to the desired team. Export the desired team. Load the team and it should appear in a created team slot.

It took me hours just to do 2 teams...95 Rockets and 00 Pacers.
Ok well I'm on my way to a 30 team classic roster file...slowly.

Just do what he said...

Start an Association w/ the generic team and the desired team both being user-controlled. Move the players on the generic team to the desired team. Export the desired team. Load the team and it should appear in a created team slot.

Once you are into the ASSN., go into the menu and be the GM of the classic generic team (like '95 Rockets) you want to control, and trade or cut/resign players from one team to the other. Then you may need to "play both sides" and switch to become GM of the real (current) team (like current Rockets) to make things work out.

It takes a long time due to contracts and roster minimums, etc, but I successfully traded or cut and resigned all the classic players from the Rockets and Pacers created generic teams to the actual Rockets and Pacers (exchanging current players for classic players).

You have to make sure contracts line up. If not, go into edit player's contacts down millions to make them fit under the cap. Juggle the contracts to get under the cap.

The two teams I did, or more teams?
Can you help out doing this? Then we can have all 30 teams but if I do it myself, it will take ages.

The good news is that I was able to export the two teams and successfully import them into a roster, however I did not look to see what Unis are available for those teams. I hope there are choices for the unis.

I'm trying various ways of getting throwback unis onto a created team.

This works:
Create single classic players and move them onto current rosters one by one. Then you can keep the throwback unis and Alt unis. Otherwise, i can't figure out a way to keep them.
The game deletes those unis once you export a team.

Am I right?
Is there any other way to make this happen?

For anyone out there that was trying to do old school teams like me, I finally figured it out.

To do an 80's team with short shorts here's how I was able to do it.

1. Use one of the 80's teams or early 90's teams in the game as your start. For my 85 Lakers, I used the 91 Lakers. Do Not use "Create a Team" option.

2. Release players on that team who are not on the team you are creating.

3. Create or modify existing created players to be the correct plyrs on the old team. I also dloaded a few Player DNA's from 2Kshare to help me.

4. Once you created or modified all the need players, edit what they wear and ratings.

5. After your team is complete, save your roster as a separate roster file name.

6. Start up a season and plug in your old time team into one slot of another team.

7. Only control 1 team (the one you created).

8. Export that team to a new team file in the Save menu.

9. Go back and load your original roster that has the original old team that came with the game.

10. Load your Exported team. It will now be listed in the rosters menu with all the current teams that came with the game.

**One main issue however with "exported teams" that is a glitch and hopefully will be patched. Some of the created players you made will have their faces distorted somewhat after you load the exported team. To get around this for now, you gotta re-download some player DNA's to get the faces back to normal. In game you don't notice it much though.
