The floater or runner shot

Is it me or is the floater in 2k8 more effective than in 2k12? Both college hoops and nba 2k8 have a pretty nice floater.

Dont remember how it was in 2k8 but the floaters in 2k12 are not effective. Supposed to be shot you take trying to avoid the defense but it feels like they block it more than normal lay-ups.

Re: The floater or runner shot

I consider myself lucky if I can even get a floater off in 2K`1. Often I get my shot pasted back into my face before the ball even leaves my hands.

Re: The floater or runner shot

its almost impossible to get a layup online against decent defense as a point guard, but runners have worked well for me than normal layups, which get blocked 99% of the time

Re: The floater or runner shot

my complaints about the runner--and really all of the shooting in 2k12, and also the issue where the computer decides if i do a dunk or layup sometimes--is the fact that the user is expected to flick one joystick or press one button in order to perform completely different moves pending on situation and the precise yet ambiguous locations on the floor. Some times when I attempt to initiate a runner, the player stops and pulls up, and in other instances he initiates a dunk animation.

The floater rarely goes in, even with a great ability to do so
