MyCareer: Will You Be Able to Choose Alt. Position?

I know in 2K12 when I created a 6'4" 180lb SG, every team I played for had me as a SG/SF, which ultimately left me severely overmatched when playing against the likes of LBJ, KD, Rudy Gay, and even World Peace.

I don't know if anybody knew tricks from 2K12 that will likely carry over, or if anybody knows whether it'll be selectable in 2K13, but I just want to know if I'll be able to pick my secondary position when creating my player this year.

    Thanks.

Yeah I think it would be nice if you could pick your secondary position. I doubt it though, for this year at least.

I think its more what play style you pick. I had a 6'8 230lbs athletic sg and my secondary position was always pg

I create an all around SF and they put me to play any position.

Yeah, it is. Pass first PG was the only way to get a PG without SG as a secondary, IIRC. Would be nice to be able set that anyway though. Or at least have it tell you before you finish creating your guy.

It would be awesome if u actually got clock at your secondary position.... My secondary position was PG.... I'd like to get clock at the point where i could take advantage of my opponent.... When they did put me in at the point, i'd post my man up.....and i was still fast enough to blow by him if I wanted to do that...
            Memphis Grizzlies.....
            TN Titans....
            UK Wildcats......

I'd go one step further and if it suits the team structure better START at your 2ndary position ala Kevin Garnett and Chris Bosh... I don't want the Lakers trading Kobe when I'm a 2 guard too, I'll happily start and play at SF cos its my 2nd position.

This. I remember in 2k12 I built a SF, and during the GM interview, the GM asked me if I was willing to move to SG, because of KD not willing to play out of position. ...

I fully expected, once I was drafted by OKC, to have SG as my primary position... instead I was still a SF and eventually the ai benched KD for me... even though KD was the league leader in scoring etc....

It would have been very realistic and even welcomed to have me switch my primary position to help meet the needs of the team and to be necessary if I expected to make the show in the NBA with OKC.

This is something I definitely want. I would like teams to recognize their rosters and make better lineups decisions.
Depending on your playstyle, if there is already a star at that position, they should move you to your secondary position. Think about when Shannon Brown was at Lakers. He played primarily at PG since Kobe was there.

Only thing is that last year I did play at my Alternate Position for a season. I with the Bobcats in my 3-5th season(one of those seasons) as a SG. They drafted a SG with their locked 2nd OVR spot. He didnt have a secondary position, so they had him start at SG the whole year and moved me over to SF. He was 6'8 as SG and I was 6'5 as a SF. The only thing was that I didnt have any key games outside the team rivals games.

Yep. It only makes perfect sense to do this. I don't see why they wouldn't implement it.

It was pretty annoying when my 6'11", slow-as-molasses PF was forced play SF, and even SG one time..

I started at my secondary position, 6'6" sg started at the 3 on the heat because wade is Sg/pg so I started at the 3 next to wade and lebron moved to the 4
