One article even had the title things 2K and the NBA doesn't want you to see. That puts a strain on things with the NBA and could actually hurt us the customers in the long run.

Granted we here at OS now the difference between a 2K roster and a hex edit roster but everyone and most importantly the mass media doesn't. When those articles and photos hit the net all it says is these are items unlocked in 2K's game. That gives the impression that is available well before it is suppose to.

Don't get me wrong I have no problem with hex edit rosters and have used them for a couple of years but we can't realistically get mad at 2K for trying to limit access to things that aren't suppose to be shown or used until the NBA gives them the ok to do so. Trust me when I say 2K would much rather piss of the guys here and other places that use hex edits than to piss off the NBA and put their contracts and relationships in jeopardy. That would/could cost them far more money than losing the very small percentage of possible customers who wouldn't buy the game if hex edits where completely blocked out.
I have to say, this is one of the most intelligently articulated posts I've read in a long time. Extremely insightful, courteous and educational. Amazingly enough I never thought about it in those terms. Excellent points though. Thanks!

is this the 3rd update?

1st: 2K uploads "an old" roster
2nd: 2K admits uploading a wrong roster adds the new one
3rd: roster update, this one?

Technically yes, it's the 3rd update since the 2nd update was done in error and replaced the next day.

Someone is getting paid to do this (developers or what have you). It boils down to either just pure laziness or lack of attention to detail or both...which is not a good recipe when you're attempting to make a sim game.

Don't cut 2k a break on this, because the less we expect the less they will deliver. They've already cut out the following things on this game that worked in previous versions.

1. Ability to hex edit.
2. Ability to turn off Auto-save.
3. Ability to create home and away accessories/shoes, now we can only create one or the other and they limited the colors in some instances.
4. Ability to slider share

There are other things I can think of but I think you get the idea. They more we allow them to slack the more they will...particularly with no outside competition.
THAT ROSTER IS TRASH ALSO OS SIM ROSTER IS THE BEST

If you guys going to leave Granger, Rose out of online then take every Injured player out of the Online roster, doesnt that make more sense?

Also for the lakers where is Robert Sacre, Darius Odom at? We like that you guys are tryin to fix the rosters. But plz fix it right.
If 2k would update the rosters correctly they would be. The knicks are missing pablo, copland and james white. So theres not enoungh players on the knicks roster to put them all on the reserves

Why is J2K9's roster TRASH? Maybe it's not up to your specifications, but it certainly isn't trash. If you believe it's trash, might you explain why? It is certainly better than 2K's...no doubt about it. I'll check out the OS Sim roster.

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)

Is it an extensive process to update their official roster? Can they not simply edit the roster, save it, and upload it? There have been 2-3 updates in the past week...and very little to show for it.

The majority of the things the community is complaining about would take literally 20 minutes; half hour at best. Adding/subtracting players, editing a few accessories, etc.

I honestly don't understand why they would spend SO much time making such a great product, and can't be bothered to spend any time updating these minor, yet crucial things!

Being a Raptor fan, the example I'll use is Dominic McGuire. The dude is sitting in the free agent pool, and it would take 10 seconds, literally, to assign him to the correct team.

I get the delay with adding players that aren't currently in the game as I assume that would take more time and effort (except someone like Teletovic, who's been a Net for months now and signed on for three years). But seriously, what does the '2K Insider' do? Has he been implementing the new courts/shoes? (which is appreciated BTW). Or does he seriously just get paid to update their roster? I mean no disrespect, I just don't understand!
