Auto feet replacing behind the line

Sorry if the title doesn't make sense, I didn't know how to put it. I'am talking about the feature that replaces your feet automatically behind the line when you're close to it.

I'am pretty sure that tons of people have been complaining in the past and that's why 2K made this. No doubt about that. But I personnaly think it should get tonned down a lot.

There are times where I got my 2 feets well inside the line, about to take a long two (with say Garnett) and I get teleported behind the 3 points line. First it looks terrible and then I wanted to take a long two, not a three.

I can understand if i got one feet just a little ON the line, I get moved back a tiny bit but when it's that much it's way too much assistance. I also think that all theses assistances (Auto shot contest, defensive assist strenthg) should be tied to the difficulty you're playing. On HOF they should all be forced on OFF.

    What you guys think?

I understand WHY they put it in the game...and you do see NBA players do this....some are very good at it.

But it seems a little broken in terms of WHICH players do it.

Someone like KG or a guy who can shoot long 2's but not so much 3's shouldn't do it....but sometimes they do.

It needs to be a TENDANCY thing.

I don't see it happen THAT much though...

Agreed. It looks absolutely ghastly. They need to either remove it, or keep it on an arcade/casual level (WARNING: This does NOT mean it should be on default setting. It doesn't belong on online quick ranked either.) I just don't know what they were thinking with that one. Obviously a case of listening to the community's complaints too much. I doubt Beluba would have agreed to have it be put in. WE should be the ones making the adjustment on the three point line, NOT the computer.

I watched Nets vs Thunder today, and I saw that Gerald Wallace scored what looked like a 3 from the top of the key, but because he had one of his feet on the 3pt line, it was counted as a 2. If that was Joe Johnson, he, as a better 3pt shooter MAY have been aware of stepping on the 3pt line, and made a quick adjustment to score the extra point. Until you can get the AI to be that intelligent (if you can't get them to have that tendency already), please 2K, just take it out, or just leave it so you can only do it on an arcade setting (NOT default).

Huh? I've NEVER seen an NBA player moonwalk behind the 3pt line to make an adjustment to take a 3. It's a HORRIFIC animation, and it needs to be either taken out or left on the ROOKIE setting.

Agree with you guys. I think even if it becomes a tendancy thing it has to be toned down and the animation redone. Right now you're sliding to the 3 pt line wich really looks bad.

The worst about it is that it has made me lazy too.

I hate spotting up for a long 2, only to magically slide behind the 3pt line. I don't know what it is this year, but it seems like there are a lot of horrible animations in this version.

What has to happen is there should be a tendency, spot up behind the line. That way, if it is low, bigs won't step back for 3s, and slashers won't teleport, but the Jason Terrys will be pulling back for the 3 much more. There also has to be several, much slower animations to replace the teleporting.

The ability to fine-tune a jump-shot is really bad this year... long twos, baselines and proper angled shots are all frustrating at times.

I also think there are more animations this year and have been fighting them a lot more then in years past.

They should make it a signature skill, plain and simple.

Exactly. It should be tied to tendencies. If a player has a high mid range tendency and a low three pointer tendency, there is no reason for him to step back behind the three point when he's receiving a pass near it.

I don't know if your being sarcastic or not. Your saying the ability to "David Blaine" hover behind the three point line, should be a signature skill?
Sometimes you gotta' stand by your failures to recognize your success.

LOL I was thinking of responding to that post, but I thought it would be unnecessary.

Hey djbaker, assuming that you don't want people to have the ability to "David Blaine", do you really think it's necessary to need to have a signature skill assigned to a player, just so that they can take a dribble behind the 3pt line to make sure they are taking a 3?
