With many publishers shifting all of their focus on the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, 2K Sports has taken a different route. They haven't forgotten about XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners.
In an exclusive interview with Examiner, 2K Executive Vice President Jeff Thomas said the current generation version of the “NBA 2K14” will be brimming with features, anything but a shoddy last hurrah on the PlayStation 3 and 360.
"We’ve tried to perfect the basketball simulation gameplay experience on current generation consoles," Thomas said. "We think, as far as gameplay goes, ‘NBA 2K14’ on current gen will be second to none. We’ve listened to our fans and tried to incorporate the updates and changes they’ve been clamoring for."
Changes that Thomas said that will add another layer to the best-selling basketball series and make current generation console owners happy they stuck with the series for the last time on the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.
"Pro Stick, for example, takes a player’s ability to create amazing highlight plays to the next level. Blocked Dunks and the return of Crews were important to our fans and we saw real excitement when we unveiled those improvements. There’s a long list of features that we’ve painstakingly worked to incorporate with the ultimate goal of making NBA 2K14 an incredible, realistic gameplay experience for fans."
"NBA 2K14" is set for an Oct. 1 release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will be released on the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 11 and on the Xbox One on Nov. 22.
