Not looking at the link, I'd venture to say that PC sales played a nice little role in both those numbers and the game branching out to more platforms this year.

The article only makes reference to 360/PS3/PS2 sales (no breakdown). I doubt PC sales were all that impactful, which was likely part of the reason PC releases were being abandoned by sports devs in the first place. 2mil in sales is well deserved and a nice accomplishment for a basketball game; congrats VC

If only 2K had worldwide marketing...They'd sell 4 million easily. I'm serious, in my country I believe that 95% of sport gamers don't even care about 2K games, and probably 50% never heard of it.

weird, in my country - Poland - with population of around 40 million, so less than that of Israel, gamers really value 2k higher than live

Does 2K do anything to promote itself in Poland? I mean, like card board cutouts at stores' windows, signs etc.?

In my country ( The USA) people are well aware of 2k sports...odd....i even see the occasional commercial.

Well, here we don't even see EA commercials or any commercials...unless you're looking for it on the net, but people are used to play EA games since the late 80's. And more important, the stores are filled with banners and cutouts of EA games. 2K games? Only on the shelf if you're looking for it. No one really cares about it. I used to feel like I'm a member of an underground group, prefering 2K games over EA.

I'd like to see a poll asking about the popularity of EA vs 2K sport games outside the US. I'd say EA wins easily.

It's been doing that for years. Live claims to have more sales because they add up ALL the consoles (360/PS3/Wii/PS2/PSP) and put a sticker on the box that says #1 selling NBA Franchise. However where it counts (360/PS3) they are outsold yearly.
