This thread is to track superstar performances (guys like Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Duncan, Howard) in dynasty games against me.
- The first game of note was my Bulls against the Cavaliers.
Cleveland took a 19 point lead into the 3rd quarter, but the Bulls stormed back and eventually led by 10 heading into the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter.
The Cavs made a big comeback, but LeBron was on the bench the final 5 minutes of the quarter. No foul trouble, just on the bench. They tied it with a 3 at the buzzer forcing overtime.
In overtime the Bulls opened up a 10 point lead and held off the Cavs for a 6 point Bulls win.
LeBron only touched the ball 3 times in the 4th quarter, and only 3 times in the overtime. He took 1 shot in the 4th quarter, and only 1 shot in overtime, generally passing as soon as he touched the ball. Of the starters only Ilgauskis had fewer points (7) to LeBron's 16.
After that I tried a Play Now game with the Cavs out of concern for LeBron's complete lack of a performance in the dynasty game. In the play now game he scored only 8 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists. He hardly touched the ball.
So I tried a Play Now game against the Lakers. In this one Kobe played like Kobe, scoring 38 points and touching the ball on almost every Lakers' possession.
Do superstars play like superstars? Do teams play like their real life NBA counterparts? From the Cleveland Dynasty Thriller, it looked like no. In a close game, back and forth, into overtime LeBron barely made an impact, and barely touched the ball.
From the Lakers game the conclusion would be yes. Kobe was huge in that game.
More games on the way. Cleveland vs the Bulls in that Dynasty game is re-playing as I write this. For some reason the saves I made last night didn't save, so it was back to square one with the Dynasty.
