    Do Superstars Perform Like Superstars?

This thread is to track superstar performances (guys like Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Duncan, Howard) in dynasty games against me.

    - The first game of note was my Bulls against the Cavaliers.

Cleveland took a 19 point lead into the 3rd quarter, but the Bulls stormed back and eventually led by 10 heading into the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter.

The Cavs made a big comeback, but LeBron was on the bench the final 5 minutes of the quarter. No foul trouble, just on the bench. They tied it with a 3 at the buzzer forcing overtime.

In overtime the Bulls opened up a 10 point lead and held off the Cavs for a 6 point Bulls win.

LeBron only touched the ball 3 times in the 4th quarter, and only 3 times in the overtime. He took 1 shot in the 4th quarter, and only 1 shot in overtime, generally passing as soon as he touched the ball. Of the starters only Ilgauskis had fewer points (7) to LeBron's 16.

After that I tried a Play Now game with the Cavs out of concern for LeBron's complete lack of a performance in the dynasty game. In the play now game he scored only 8 points with 2 rebounds and 2 assists. He hardly touched the ball.

So I tried a Play Now game against the Lakers. In this one Kobe played like Kobe, scoring 38 points and touching the ball on almost every Lakers' possession.

Do superstars play like superstars? Do teams play like their real life NBA counterparts? From the Cleveland Dynasty Thriller, it looked like no. In a close game, back and forth, into overtime LeBron barely made an impact, and barely touched the ball.

From the Lakers game the conclusion would be yes. Kobe was huge in that game.

More games on the way. Cleveland vs the Bulls in that Dynasty game is re-playing as I write this. For some reason the saves I made last night didn't save, so it was back to square one with the Dynasty.

Mayo torched me for 36. Kobe hit me up for 33. Howard had 22 and.... every rebound. Durant struggled and then had 20 in the second half.

I've seen the superstars perform well so far. That's what I remember.... I'm sure they fade away too.... too early to tell quite yet.

Wade killed me last night. Scored 47!!! In the first half I was able to block a few of his shots and steal the ball from him, consequently I saved the replays. I think the AI kicked it into high gear in the second half because I saved those replays.

Wade had 32 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocks against me with Cleveland. He had the ball in his hands on 99% of Miami's possessions. He was an animal.

Re: Do Superstars Perform Like Superstars?

          - LeBron in Bulls v Cavs part two:

In the replayed Dynasty game LeBron's line was 15 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists. Not a bad game but in a 20 point loss to the Bulls I'd expect him to take more control and try to score.

Mo Williams was again the Cavs leading scorer with 26 points. He's led their scoring in all three games that have played (CPU v CPU.)

The fans in the Dynasty have begun calling LeBron "LeBron Lame." Maybe it's a bad matchup for LeBron (Salmons has guarded him mostly.) I'm going to start a dynasty with the Cavs to see more games, and see if LeBron scores more in some games.

BTW I hope more people chime in with their experiences against superstars.

Yeah when i played against the Cavs Mo was the one lightin me up and not Lebron. I guess they go with the hot hand...??

But when i played the Pistons, Rip Hamilton killed me, he kept driven to the hoop and drawing fouls...

Re: Do Superstars Perform Like Superstars?

I think it may be either a problem with LeBron's DNA, or a problem in general with the SF position. He hardly ever touches the ball.

In a CPU v CPU game I just watched LeBron pass to Mo, then stand about 5 feet beyond the 3pt line with his arms crossed.

We'll see what happens in these CPU v CPU games in a Cavs dynasty. They start with Boston as the first of four games in four days.

i played a great game last night against the pacers and me being the magic, i know Danny Granger isnt a superstar but i could not stop him, he lit me up for 47 if i remember correctly. on the other side, although i was playing with the magic i had Dwight Howard with 27 points and 25 rebounds, he is a beast with the rebounds in this game just like real life.

What is OP talking about? Simmed stats, cpu vs cpu. or user vs. cpu? Don't know why LBJ would be an exception, hmm, hope it gets fixed via DNA... But didn't someone already posted about how LeBron exploded on him for 50 or so? Hmm, odd.

I don't own the retail game, but what is up with this LBJ thing, sometimes he drops 50 sometimes he struggles with his j and start helping his team on other sides, that's real basketball and these things can happen, not every time a superstar owns the game for you guys; that's all normal. I've read lots of guys telling LBJ got the game for them in Live 10. Stop worrying, this side of the game is solid as it seems.

I don't have it yet also, but OP made it sound like it was always like that, if it's normal deviation then great !

Re: Do Superstars Perform Like Superstars?

These are played games, CPU v CPU, with 12 minute quarters. I'm running the games while I work.

I'm not trying to make it seem one way or another. I'm posting what's happening in games.

I just started a Cavs dynasty and their first game was a 123-155 loss to the Celtics.

LeBron had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists. He was 7-20 shooting. Last year the real LeBron averaged 20.26 shots per game. It was a realistic off night for LeBron who took a lot of shots but struggled shooting. He dished a lot, and got busy on the boards.

Mo Williams led the Cavs in shots taken with 28. He scored 36 points.

So far in 4 games (CPU v CPU) with the Cavs, LeBron is averaging about 15 points per game. Mo has led them in shots taken and points every game.

More Cavs games to come with this franchise.

Game 2 of the Cavs Franchise

It seems LeBron heard the "LeBron Lame" nickname and didn't like it. So far in the first quarter:

                              11 pts
                              1 rebound
                              3 assists

                              5-9 shooting

His scoring includes two coast to coast dunks, one on the rebound and one on an inbound pass. He accelerated past the defense for a thunderous one handed jam. He also scored once on a screen from Shaq.

Mo Williams has 9 1st quarter points as the Cavs end the quarter leading 29-18.

Bosh leads the Raptors with 8 pts, 4 rebounds, 2 assists.
