I reckon they're trying to reignite the Live 10 goodness with added extras of a modern engine and an extra 6 months of work. I feel good about it as well!

Normal dev cycle is about 8-9 months. Since they didn't release 17, they also didn't have to go through alpha/beta/launch. Which is about 3-4 months. Plus no patch work.

So instead of a normal 8 month dev cycle, they will have had about 20 months by the time this thing goes to 1st party.

Expectations are high.

Possible days until info.

Ps. I fired up Live 16 last night and played a little Ultimate Team. Check out what I scored in a Chinese New Year pack!!!

Expectations are high but they shouldn't be considering they've had similar development cycles before and didn't deliver.

I have no expectations, I'm just hopeful at this point.

Dude, I'm in the same boat as you. I have a good feeling about NBA Live 18. I am so happy WNBA is in because I've had that idea since FIFA 16 gave us the women's teams. I mean WNBA is only 10 teams, so it's not a huge hassle.

I'm not buying the other guys no matter how good it is. I'm supporting NBA Live 18 no matter if it's good or not. We need legit competition. I have faith in EA this time. I can't wait until June.

Re: NBA LIVE 18: Leaked Screenshots

Visually and audibly Live games always look and sound fantastic for the most part aside from some weird faces, but...

This game needs:

- Smooth gameplay animations
- Signature shots, dribble packages, celebrations
- Roster editing/share, slider share, draft class share
- Deep dynasty mode: Coaching strategies, team identities [competing, contending, rebuilding], editable draft classes, player mins rotations, summer league, coaches and gm pools

Online not my forte but I'm assuming Ultimate team will be good and pro-am will be fine considering you will have two different games to choose from with different gameplay styles with a ton of shoes, gear, and skills to unlock.

For offline franchise guys like me I'm hoping it's going to be worth a try. I'm not expecting anything as deep as the other game right off the bat like expansion, rebuilding, rule changes, simcast live etc. But the list I've mentioned above is definitely needed if they claim the wait is to make the game feature-full and a true competitor.

Fingers crossed.

Seriously, if they used the Live 10 engine, tuned it up real nice and slapped a shiny coat of paint on it, I would be thrilled. And I think it would sell well.

Live 10 engine slapped with the Frost Bite engine is that shiny coat of paint you are referring to...
