That post means nothing from that website that's pretty much as uninformed as yourself.
I'm about 99% sure NBA LIVE 18 runs currently at 1440p natively, 1080p does not look that sharp. Also Madden 18 supports 4k with NO NEED FOR AN UPDATE

you obviously haven't seen other 1440p or even 1080p games, have u?
unless you pixel count & prove it, I would rather take the word from the developer even though he's so vague whether the actual support is really comming lol.
he didn't say the game's already ps4 pro inhanced, at least.
do u even know how to pixel count and calculate the resolution?
You wish u do since you're specifically saying that it's 1440p, neither 1260p like RE7 nor 1620p like The Surge. you're saying 2560*1440 right? lol
what's Madden got to do with NBA LIVE anyway?
completely different game from different developers. they don't share the engine or anything. means nothing.
LEFT : NBA LIVE 18 demo, ps4 pro (I took the shot from the screenshot thread and you're claiming it's 1440p)
RIGHT : NBA 2K17, og ps4 (means only 1080p, this is the old screen capture of mine.)
they're all cropped from the 100% images. no resizing whatsoever. (means both are at the same pixel scale)
Click the image to view at 100%.
see it for yourself.
