Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

This thread may have just completely changed my decision not to buy this game. I just had an incredible USC vs ND(me) game. First half using stock sliders from page 1 on slow speed with 40 threshold. The first half was good, but a bit too offensive for my tastes and was 24 - 20 for ND.

1st half
1st downs USC 9 ND 11
Total offense USC 170 ND 237
Rushing USC 20 for 72 ND 17 for 85
Passing USC 6/11 for 98 ND 9/16 for 152
TOP USC 9:20 ND 8:40

Loved the balance of the first half but scoring drives were averaging under 2 minutes and there were a total of 6 roughing the passer calls with 4 on USC. So at halftime I changed to very slow and dropped roughing the passer to 45. What ensued was my ideal half of NCAA gameplay.

2nd half
USC 23 ND 14
1st downs USC 14 ND 9
Total offense USC 263 ND 130
Rushing USC 20 for 155 ND 12 for 30
Passing USC 10/14 for 105 ND 10/13 for 101
TOP USC 9:40 ND 8:20

Final score USC 43 ND 38 and ranked as my #1 greatest game

All drives except one due to a shortened field from a pick were over 2 1/2 minutes. This mostly was helped by the very slow speed making plays take longer and the offense taking longer to line up on the ball.

USC got the lead on the first drive of the third and Silas absolutely took over when they started feeding him the rock.

Very slow seemed to play at a much better pace for me when using 9 minute quarters and while 64 plays between the two teams in the first half was a bit much, the 59 in the second half, while not a huge difference felt much better.

Kudos on the find because the game plays (at least after one game) much better than anything I was able to tune on heisman.

I had to copy this from the twitchtv chat:

» for all CPU Defensive sliders, needs to be raised because they are at a Varsity level.
» for all CPU Offensive sliders, needs to be considered from Heisman sets because they are at a Heisman level.
» for all User Defensive sliders, needs to be concerned on a Heisman level.
» for all User Offensive sliders, needs to be lowered because operating against a Varsity defense.

That's awesome man, and is definitely my kind of half as well. I love the very slow sliders - that's why i started working on Heisman very slow sliders - so I might have to check into that for a personal use.

I hit a prayer jump ball to my 6-5 230lb wideout to get I to the red zone and ran my offense to get the touch and two point conversion. My computer defense forced a short drive for AFA and I got the ball back and decided to stick with my offense and two plays into my drive I hit the B back on an option and he busts a 71 yard touchdown run to make it 28-21. My comp defense holds again and I get the ball with 48 seconds left and no timeouts and I march it up the field with no huddle and have 4th and 10 at the 35 and get a roughing the passer penalty on the incomplete pass. I score with seven seconds left and force over time and lose, but man, what a fun game.

Here's the final stat line...
Whoa, intense game right there. How were the total penalties? Great game!

I'm Western Michigan, dynasty game

Note that I sim defence.

1st game I started 13/15 and they couldn't stop me but I also couldn't seem to get a running game going at first. They seemed to gain momentum when I made mistakes and got picked off.

2nd game was the opposite. I was down but stayed within reach and then was able to make the comeback late.

Running game was really fun.
I would get stopped on a bunch then get a few 5 yard runs and each game I had one run of around 30.

Passing was also great.
In the first game I had 2 that went just a bit off that got picked and forced 2 late to inflate the int's. Second game I just made a couple mistakes, totally my fault and they should have picked them off.

There were three in the user controlled first and fourth quarter. A holding and clipping call in the first and the roughing the passer in the fourth.

Re: NCAA 14 - OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

On one hand i didnt see the DB glitch, the CPU gameplan never changed

On the other, both teams had 700 yards of offense and I averaged 13 yards a carry

I double checking to make sure I have it all entered correctly

With user run block at zero and rouser RBA at 5 I'm back down to the 5 yards a carry range so far

Sounds better, jared - I'm in the middle of getting trounced by SMU, 24-7 in 2nd half using S. Alabama
