Very surprised we're top 25 after the Steve Kragthorpe debacle.

Sure they play tougher schedules and usually have higher rated recruiting classes, but if you line up one of those non-aqs with the listed bcs programs the non-aq would be the favorite to win.

I would just like those high end "non-AQ's" to have decent ratings and be able to be competitive with in online games as the ratings don't really mean a whole lot outside of that IMO.
they play in weak conference's though. 3/4's of their record is against very weak competition though. Now i do agree indy, vandy and baylor shouldnt be 80 overall's but the smaller schools shouldnt be highly up there either. like Hawaii isnt any good anymore, Fresno is solid so like an 82 overall would be too bad but anything higher is a little much IMO

glad to see WVU in the top 15. They are about to have another solid decade with Dana Holgorsen stepping in.

Duke plays Georgia Tech, Virginia tech, Miami, and UNC every year. That's more than marginally better than playing Utah, Air Force, and SMU.

Heres something interesting. I made a chart of each conference and how many teams above and below 500 there are. This isn't perfect as it omits things like teams changing conferences over the last 10 years (VT/BC/Miami to the ACC and the many changes in the Big East). Still it is interesting to see how conferences stack up in this regard.

Conference Teams above 500/ Total teams

ACC.........10/12
Big 12........8/12
SEC...........8/12
Big 10 .......7/11
Big East.......6/8
Pac 10.......6/10
Mnt West....3/9

Nope. The Mountain West is the better conference. I'll take Utah, BYU, TCU, Air Force and SDSU against the ACC top 5 any day of the week.
