Re: Best PS2 year?

Damn, I really cant call it. I liked all of em equally. Last gen, the weight of the players was represented much better. I dont remember if the weight actually had any effect as far as trucking was concerned, but the way the players changed direction more closely mimicked that of a real human body than anything released this whole current gen (including 14).

I really like 14, but even with the hard cuts being implemented back into the game you still get that disney on ice weightless/skating feel just slightly but enough to notice it.

2004 and 2006 were the best IMO.

I agree, but I thought the running game was the best in 03. NCAA 2003 and NCAA 2005 I think the are the best. The presentation of NCAA 2005 is awesome, as well as the passing game, defending the pass and the features. However, NCAA 2003 has the best running game, and the best kickoff returns by far.

The problem with NCAA 2005 is that it's hard to run into open space. The defenders close you down so quick. (on AA and Heisman) On Varsity in NCAA 2005 it's more like NCAA 2003 but easier. NCAA 2003 has the most realistic blocking, running and tackling. The kickoff returns of NCAA 2003 has not been surpassed in any game since IMHO. You can actually hit holes in NCAA 2003 and you see the same type of blocking situations you see in a real game.

NCAA 2005 is really a great game, more dynamic, and a lot of things are improved, but the running isn't quick the same as it is in NCAA 2003. 06 is also very good, but the deep ball is too easy and the impact players are a bit much. (how every team has exactly 3 impact players) The running is more realistic looking but also it leads to more higher scoring games than NCAA 2005. I actually think NCAA 2003 is much better than NCAA 2004 if you really study at the gameplay and how the sliders work.

Didn't 06 have horrible pursuit angles?

Re: Best PS2 year?

NCAA 09 is the best. 06 is unique because of presentation, but recruiting and mechanics / playbooks are outdated. 09 has the best recruiting because all positions were equally rated. Gameplay and visuals were smooth and playbooks were up to date. 07-08 had ridiculous momentum problems. 10-11 had terrible recruiting problems.
