    Draft Strategy

If you choose to redo the draft, what will be you're team and what will be your strategy?

I'll be taking the Texans, picking up Mendenhall, a good Receiver to complement Johnson, lots of O-Line, and maybe a good Corner depending on need.

Also, over at Gamestop, someone had a very in-depth strategy I'd like to post as well (I supplied the players I believed to fit his strategy):

Draft Needs/Priority: OT, TE, QB, DT, DE, MLB, WR

QB: Must have arm strength and ability to throw on the run. Size isn't a big deal for me, therefore I should be able to get a solid kid day 2. - Andre Woodson

OT: This draft is rich at this position, I'll hopefully have on fall to me at pick 3, or take a one with my round 2 selection. - Jake Long, Duane Brown, Sam Baker

TE: Deep threat. Looking for a physical specimen, I don't carry how he blocks, most of the work he will be doing in the run game will be hinging LBs anyways - Fred Davis?

DT: Huge! Not looking for a penetrator, I just want someone to protect my smallish backers. - Frank Okam, Jason Shirley

DE: Speed. I love a good tweener at DE. Someone in the 6'4 to 6'6 range, tall lanky player who can't disrupt the pass game. - Vernon Gholston, Quentin Groves

MLB: Speed, but more then anything awareness. Must be able to cover and TE or RB. - Spencer Larsen

WR: I don't care how fast, how strong, or how high he can jump. All I ask is that he catches passes and blocks well in the running game - James Hardy, Marcus Smith

Offence Strategy: I'm huge on running to set up the pass, lot's of playaction and draws. The TE on my team needs some run after the catch ability. My offence is sort of a spread offence, no shotgun or pistol formations for me though. Lot's of single back/H-Back stuff going on. The TE is the catalyst in this offence.

Defence Strategy: SPEED! I run the 3-4 in a much different way, probably because of my Canadian Football roots. I like my ends tall and fast, my corners in man to man and my linebackers fast. My safeties are generally either oversized safeties or undersized linebackers, so its like I have 6 large safeties on the field at once. That way I can match up my backers on pretty much any RB in the league, and play the under coverage to perfection to stop the YAC guys. The key position in this defence is NT, if he ain't good this defence will struggle.

    Re: Draft Strategy

    Re: Draft Strategy

Hm, this is a good one. If I take my Rams I'll probably redo the whole damn thing (keep Bruce, get corner help, come on Asante!). I'll probably still draft Long, though Dorsey could be interesting, but I'll take a better wide receiver than Avery (I'm pretty sure that there are a few rated better than him), and continue getting some O-line help (get them younger so that when I let Pace go it won't hurt as much).

Of course, I'd also like to run something with the Titans and actually get them some receiving help and some corner help, and not take a stupid running back, they've got enough.
    Go BC Eagles!!!
    Go STL Cardinals!!!
    Go STL Blues!!!
Go STL Rams...please don't get Sam Bradford killed...
