    Mike Zazzali Draft Paths

Before I start the Lee Claxton Draft in the Ozzie Jones draft. I'll post summaries for each draft in the Zazzali path like I did before with the Jack English and Ozzie Jones Draft Paths.

    2009 Mike Zazzali Draft
The 2008 Heisman results of the Zazzali Draft Path are in and here are the results. Heisman Leader heading into October Chris Essex QB Connecticut finished 5th in the Heisman. Trojan go to guy Kendrell Kennison WR USC Finished 4th in the Heisman. Mike Zazzali QB Arizona finished 3rd in the Heisman. Morgan Barnes QB USC who led the Trojans to an undefeated regular season record was the Heisman runner up. With Demario Waddel CB Washington who can also play wide receiver winning the Heisman. There are 4 stud runningbacks in this draft. Vonnie Mendenhall RB Michigan, Adrian Joseph JR RB Maryland, Jacob Flynn RB Boise State, and Kenton Kason RB Georgia. The 3 other receivers who stand out in this draft besides Kendrell Kennison are Blake Walton WR Texas Tech, Dominique Berlin WR Florida State, and Roscoe Lester WR Oklahoma. Kwame Frampton TE Texas has made a great case to be a tight end drafted in the top 10. SEC blindsides at Left Tackle Marquay Traylor LT Tennessee and Geoff Schaffer LT Arkansas are the best left tackles in the draft. Traylor has great footwork and pass blocking skills and Schaffer has the physical run blocking skils. SEC Centers Frank McElmore C Alabama and Jeremy Dahl C South Carolina also are considered top notch lineman in the SEC conference. Right Guards Tyler Fordham RG UCLA and Sean Forgery RG Ohio State are worth keeping an eye on. Right End Vernon Caldwell RE Oregon State is the best pass rusher in the draft. Looking for an elite run stuffer look no further than Tim White DT Wisconsin. The standout middle linebacker this year is Gino King MLB West Virginia. Two other corners to watch besides Waddell are Syvelle Simpson CB Virginia Tech and Knowshon Mincey CB Kansas.

    2010 John Scotland Draft
This draft is headlined by 5 quarterbacks who made the Heisman exciting to the very end. In 5th place Cal McGuire QB Fresno State McGuire got off to a hot start, but collapsed down the stretch. In 4th place Wade Appling QB Vanderbilt Appling played very well down the stretch. In 3rd place was Mark Hukabee QB Arkansas who led the Razorbacks to an SEC Title against Tennessee last year. This year his team played Georgia and lost the SEC Title Game to standout wide receiver Aundray Bender WR Georgia. The Heisman runner up was John Scotland QB Oklahoma who guided the #1 Sooners to a national title apperance. Your Heisman winner is Drew Thompson QB UCLA who guided the Bruins to an undefeated record and a #2 ranking in the polls while leading the nation in passing yards. Thompson also beat out John Scotland in the title game and critics who had Thompson high on their boards were silenced after starting to doubt Thompson. You can't go wrong with Scotland or Thompson as they were ranked 1A and 1B to start the year, but as the season progressed Thompson proved he was the better guy after experts had Scotland ranked ahead of him. The other playmaker to watch is Cyrus Jones RB Florida State. Moses McDonald WR USC is the next best receiver compared to Aundray Bender WR Georgia and McDonald reminds the scouts of a young Dwayne Jarrett. Even though Bender is the better receiver scouts project McDonald to go higher and McDonald is usually the first receiver drafted in the John Scotland Draft.

    2011 Enoka Oshinowo Draft
The 7 ft 370 pound left tackle Enoka Oshinowo became the first left tackle to win the Heisman. He also led the #1 Huskers to a national title victory of Florida State. Heisman runner up Jared Sunquist QB Florida State was the 2nd best player in the nation behind Oshinowo. Dark Horse quarterback Jeff Meadows QB Tennessee finally guided the Vols to SEC Title win after losing to Arkansas as a sophomore. While Tennessee freshman corner Tee Morgan helped on the secondary.

    2012 Cletis Parker Draft
The Heisman race came down to 4 players, but in the end only one player won the Heisman. In 4th place Marqueis Webb RB Ohio State. In 3rd place Cletis Parker RB LSU Parker led the nation in rushing yards and made the all SEC Team. Your Heisman runner up is Taylor Tannenbaum who guided the #2 Hawaii Warriors to the National Title. Your Heisman Winner is Trent Stanton QB Ohio State who guided the Buckeyes to a National Title. One sleeper to keep an eye on that forced Ohio State into overtime is Jordan Harwell QB Indiana.

    2013 Tee Morgan Draft
There is one unanimous clear cut #1 overall pick. That guy is Logan Axelrod QB Notre Dame. Axelrod won the Heisman and National Title by a longshot. Axelrod started every game since his freshman year. The Fighting Irish scored a minimum of 21 points per game every game he started. Axelrod has thrown a minimum of 3 touchdowns every game at Notre Dame. He played all 4 years at Notre Dame and didn't win a national title till his senior year. The fewest points the Fighting Irish scored was 27 points in a 27-24 victory against UCLA. Axelrod threw 50 touchdowns and 5 interceptions with over 5000 passing yards during his senior year and those picks came against elite corners. He threw multiple interceptions twice against two playmaker corners that I'll mention later. In my dynasty he turned a winless Bills team into an 11-5 playoff powerhouse that lost in the wildcard to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The team that came 1 point shy of sending Notre Dame into overtime is the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns have a duo of wide receivers led by freshman pheonom Durrant Boulware who won the #1 receiver job in spring drills and Tiki Tyson WR Texas who enters his senior year. Left Tackle Vernon Kennedy is the best left tackle in the country and junior right tackle Jaamal Zimmerman is expected to make the switch to left tackle next season as he returns for his senior year. Texas has a corner that caught two Logan Axelrod interceptions in the National Championship Game. I'm mentioning all the elite corners in a bit, but first I'll mention the wide receivers. Scotty Schelley declared for the NFL Draft despite the fact that the Bruins would be the #1 team heading into next year without him. Imagine how good they would be with him. Devon Newberry WR North Carolina helped the Tar Heels get to their first bowl game in 6 years. Jamar Brinkley WR Oklahoma led the Sooners in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns this year. I already mentioned Tiki Tyson WR Texas so the final receiver worth mentioning is Chad Montgomerry WR Minnesota. Junior Left Tackle DeAngelo Barkley knew the Trojans would start the year #3 in the polls without him and might be #1 in the polls had he returned for his senior year, but he wanted to declare. The best pass rusher in the country is Braylon Booker LE Virginia. Now to the cornerbacks which I've been building so much drama about. This deep class of cornerbacks is led by Tee Morgan CB Tennessee. Morgan propelled the Vols to 3 straight SEC Championships during his tenure at Tennessee winning two of those SEC Title Games. Tennessee was ranked in the top 5 every year in the preseason with Morgan and only lost 2 games during his 3 years. Morgan had 35 interceptions over 3 years getting a minimum of 10 picks each year returning half of those picks for scores. As a junior he caught 15 interceptions. Morgan is a future 50 player and he is compared to Ty Hill. Morgan guided the Vols to an undefeated record his freshman year the Volunteers were snobbed of a National Title apperance as Nebraska and Florida State were #1 and #2 to start the preseason. The following year the preseason top 5 looked like this heading into the regular season with #1 Florida State , #2 Tennessee, #3 Ohio State, #4 LSU, and #5 Hawaii. After Florida State lost to Maryland Tennessee was #1 in the country. LSU lost to Auburn, but Auburn lost to Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Alabama in November to collapse. LSU climbed back to #4 in the polls trailing Tennessee. LSU beat Tennessee during Morgan's sophomore year to win the SEC title game. Tennessee then lost to Florida in their conference opener during Morgan's junior year. Morgan guided the Vols to 2 Sugar Bowl victories 1 against Logan Axelrod and Notre Dame before Axelrod won the National Title and 1 Fiesta Bowl victory against the Texas Longhorns who had 3 first round receivers that year. Arnez Soriano CB Florida State lost the National Championship game as a sophomore and has been compared to Champ Bailey. Soriano picked off Logan Axelrod twice one of those picks was returned for 6 points against the Irish in a 34 to 14 Notre Dame win. Darrell Harris CB Florida has been compared to Lito Sheppard he got more picks in a win against Tennessee.
Jarius Conroy CB Texas has been compared to Quentin Jammer he also picked off Logan Axelrod twice in the National Title Game. Andree Pollard CB Boston College compared to Andre Dyson. Calvin Bady CB UAB compared to Antrel Rolle. Chrales Knight CB Louisville reminds people of a young Nnamdi Asoumugha getting Louisville to 4 straight Orange Bowl victories. Jamal Talley CB Western Michigan compared to Darrell Reevis and LaMarcus Joslin CB Washington State who is compared to Marcus Trufant are two sleeper corners. Darnell Dansby FS USC is the best free safety in the land he also decided to declare as a junior. Strong Safety Devin McDonald has played all 4 years at NC State and is arguably the top strong safety in this draft.

    2014 Vonteego Cross Draft
The top 5 for the preseason is out as #1 UCLA is sitting in the drivers seat at #1, follow by #2 Texas, #3 USC, #4 South Carolina, and #5 Wisconsin rounding out the top 5. In the end UCLA would play Texas while South Carolina and Wisconsin both finished unbeaten to end the regular season, but got snubbed. Central Florida finished the year #5 as they went 11-1 in regular season play losing at Marshall the week before the Conference USA Title Game. They would go on to win the Conference USA Title game though thanks to Carmelo Goldwire QB Central Florida who reminds scouts of Daunte Culpepper. The Will Swecker QB UCLA to Khevin Mosley WR UCLA connection seems unstoppable at this point as the Bruins won the National Title against Texas 52-7. Kory York QB San Jose State has been the top pick on draft boards all season thanks to his cannon arm, deep ball accuracy, and his Michael Vick type speed despite running a West Coast Offense where he stays in the pocket. His production late in the season and his poor bowl game play have him slipping, but he could still get selected first overall. Here's how the top 10 Best Players Available looks like at this point.
    1. Vonteego Cross LE South Carolina He's the only future 50 player in this draft.
    2. Larry Brewington RB Jackson State He's being compared to Walter Peyton.
    3. Will Swecker QB UCLA Won the Heisman and National Championship with UCLA
    4. Jamaal Zimmerman LT Texas has been a starting offensive tackle at Texas for two years now. Can play anywhere on the offensive line, but left tackle is his strong spot. Zimmerman has been compared to Marcus McNeil and has higher potential than Brock Covington.
    5. Brock Covington LT Wisconsin Covington has been compared to Joe Thomas and can play any position on the offensive line. Once considered a mid 2nd rounder. Good regular season play landed him late into round 1. His bowl game performance got him into the top 12 conversation. After the Senior Bowl scouts were saying he's a top 10 lock. After the combine scouts are saying he's a top 5 lock.
    6. Kehvin Mosley WR UCLA Mosley was Swecker's go to guy at UCLA and is the top receiver in this draft.
    7. Mike Best CB Washington Kept Mosley to under 100 receiving yards. It was Mosley's only game of under 100 receiving yards all season and Best is the best corner to declare out of Washington since DeMario Waddell.
    8. Carmelo Goldwire QB Central Florida Goldwire is being compared to Daunte Culpepper.
    9. Octavius Hall LT Middle Tennessee State Hall was once considered a 2nd-3rd round pick, but a breakout senior bowl solidified his 2nd round status and a 40 bench press reps along with the blocking drills Hall excelled in put him into the top 10.
    10. Kory York was considered the top pick from September to November before a late season collapse that lasts up till draft day. Now he's on the brink of not getting drafted in the top 10.

    2015 Darrent Boulware Draft
The 3 Heisman finalists are as follows 3rd place Darrent Boulware WR Texas, 2nd place Daniel Rocker QB Washington, and Kyle Ragland QB Fresno State who decided to return for his senior year after winning the Heisman. Defensive Ends Maques Battle LE Memphis and Scott Zimmer RE Notre Dame are both physical pass rushing defensiv eends. Brian Booking MLB Penn State is another Penn State Product. #2 Florida State faced #1 Texas and Florida State won 28-7. Florida State has an elite defense as many 4 players are first round picks. Those players are Edgerin Culpepper DT Florida State, Nate Branch ROLB Florida State, Dez Miller CB Florida State, and Laurent Curry SS Florida State. Miller and Curry double covered Boulware, but he still had 180 receiving yards on 18 receptions and 1 touchdown. I'm not saying these defensive backs are bad, but Boulware is that good because even though he was double covered and tackled around all game. He made plays. He was thown to 27 out of 35 times when Texas passed the ball so going 18 for 27 as a receiver isn't that bad. Dontrelle Wayne RB Syracuse is the top runningback in this draft. Junior Left Tackle Chauncey Butler who opened lanes for him is returning for his senior season. While sophomore right tackle Bernard Kingsley will be making the switch to left tackle when Butler leaves for the NFL.

    2016 Kyle Ragland Draft
This draft is headlined by two Heisman winners. 2015 Heisman Winner Kyle Ragland and 2016 Heisman Winner Marques Adams a sophomore who reminds many of Vince Young. #2 Fresno State faced #1 Washington in the National Title and #2 Fresno State won 27-24 Thanks to a last 2nd field goal. Other quarterbacks to watch are Ken Braum QB Miami FL, John Kramer QB Kentucky, and Matt Mergstrom QB Purdue. Tee Walden RB Northern Illinois reminds people of Michael Turner. Big 12 Superstars trying to become the next Darrent Boulware are Bryant Holyfield WR Nebraska and Jalen Best WR Oklahoma. Katlin King LT Ohio State reminds every scout of a young Orlando Pace. Matt Kessler LT Vanderbilt is being compared to Joe Thomas while Chauncey Butler LT Syracuse is being compared to DeBrickishaw Ferguson. There are boatload of cornerbacks in the Ragland draft too. Jalan Ambrose CB Kansas State reminds scouts of a younger version of Terrence Newman. Alfonso Park CB Texas Tech is being compared to Ronde Barber, Sylvester Cox CB South Carolina is being compared to Sheldon Brown. Robert Major CB West Virginia is being compared to Ricardo Colclough, and Daniel Branch CB UCLA is being compared to Charles Woodson. Strong Safety Xavier Smith is being compared to Adrian Wilson.

    2017 Bernard Kingsley Draft
This draft is headlined by a few players. I'll start with the obvious Bernard Kingsley LT Syracuse is the most consistent player in the draft. The only knock on him is that he played 3 years at right tackle before making the switch to left tackle. USC defeated Penn State and Heimsan winner George Barkum RB Penn State to win the National Title. The dynamic duo of Maurice Barber James RB USC and Ronnie Gore RB USC helped the Trojans win it all. Some scouts say this duo reminds them of the Reggie Bush Lendale White Duo when Pete Carrol coached USC. Other Heisman finalists who lost to Barkum are Clayton Riley QB SMU, Justin Bericap QB Texas, Chris Kramer QB Iowa, and ALex Stoneburner QB Wyoming.

    2018 Trent Rakestraw Draft
The 2017 Heisman is in for the Zazzali path and the order is as follows. In 5th place Jeremy Suvak QB Tulsa. In 4th place Cody Withers QB South Carolina. Finishing in 3rd place is Darius Stallworth RB Alabama. Your Heisman runner up is Dominic Jordan WR Michigan. And your Heisman winner is Trent Rakestraw QB Oklahoma. The National Championship set up an **** matchup between #2 Oklahoma and #1 Michigan. Despite the Michigan victory. I had the #1 overall pick with Tampa two years after winning my 2nd Super Bowl in 3 years. Woodson was entering the final year of his contract and I took Rakestraw. I'm in the final year of my coaching dynasty Woodson retired and Rakestraw is the signal caller for my team now. Despite how talented Jordan is Rakestraw is more consistent and is clearly the better player because his grades when you scout him.

    2019 Johnny Phoenix Draft
21 years after the most controversial NFL Draft that I recall in 1998. We get another remake of the Manning/Leaf draft in Head Coach. Johnny Pheonix QB Louisville is compared to Peyton Manning while Washington State has a quarterback compared to Ryan Leaf. This is just like the Flash Gorden Draft with Cooper Reno QB UNLV and Rob Lane QB Washington. Except this draft doesn't have the talent to match the Flash Gorden Draft. The National Championship featured Miami FL and Louisville. Despite being pressured constantly by the Miami Hurricanes Phoenix managed to get rid of the ball making great reads. There are 3 superstar defensive lineman from the U. Those lineman are Barrack Jabar LE Miami FL, Trey Collier RE Miami FL, and Rashard Bynum DT Miami FL all 3 lineman declare their junior year and jump ship despite Miami FL being a preseason #1 next year without them. DeAngelo Storm RB Oklahoma is a remake of Adrian Peterson. Ziggy Hogan WR Ohio State is a remake of Santonio Holmes while Dontrelle Dillenger WR California is a remake of DeSean Jackson. The top safeties in the draft are Jerron Woods FS Miami FL the junior declared. The other safety is Gabe Griffin SS Arizona State who I drafted with my Buccaneeers franchise. One left tackle to watch is Trace Harvick LT Alabama and freshman right tackle Stockar McDougle will make the transition to left tackle at Alabama.

    2020 Travis Ridge Draft
Your 2019 Heisman results are in for the Zazzali path and here are the results. In 5th place Martay Jackson RB Colorado State. In 4th place Kendall Rainey QB Miami FL. In 3rd place his teammate Bobbie Brunston. Your Heisman Runner up is Travis Ridge QB Penn State. The Heisman winner is Gilbert Irving RB Oklahoma who split carries his first 3 years with DeAngelo Storm RB Oklahoma. Irving won the Heisman in one year as a starter, but he has a learning rate of 48. His Physical, durability, size, intangibles, and production grades are all 90 or higher. Irving has a potential of 88 because of the 48 learning rate. Players with learning rates below 50 in Head Coach usually bust. Ridge is compared to Dan Fouts and has a 90 grade in every category from physical, durability, size, learning, intangibles, and potential grades are all 90 or higher. Ridge is 6ft 6 250 pounds has a 98 in throwing power a 97 in accuracy, and a 90 in awareness. Put it this way he's the Xavier Cox of quarterbacks in this game. He's capable of throwing 500 passing yards and 5 touchdowns a game alone. With Gary Hammermill he can throw 700 passing yards and 7 touchdowns a game. It is simply unfair to draft this guy because he is the Xavier Cox of quarterbacks. #2 Penn State loses to #1 Miami FL for the National Title. Horrace Hooper WR Miami FL was the go to guy at Miami FL and is the top receiver in the country. Hooper is also the MVP of the title game. Looking for a tight end look no further than Rocky Arnold TE Central Michigan. Andre McNeil LT Texas is being compared to Marcus McNeil. Looking for a center maybe you should try Dan Painter C Miami FL. Guards Chris Kelson LG Colorado and Albert Rivera RG New Mexico are the best guards in the game.

    2021 Major McKenzie Draft
This draft is really weak besides Torrin Lockett WR Ole Miss and the two quarterbacks Major McKenzie QB Troy and Blake Birdwell QB Wake Forest this draft is squat. 2022 is the last year of the Zazzali Path. And knowing that you can trade up and down to get the players you want and you can give up future picks knowing you got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Trading down in 2021 for 2022 gives you more picks. Trading your 2023 picks that you won't use gives you even more picks.

    2022 Buster McDougle Draft
You really do have a lot of depth and stability in this draft. Buster McDougle LT Alabama headlines this draft. McDougle is the one player that clearly stands out. As he wins the Heisman and the National Title as Alabama manhandles Michigan 64 to 7. #2 Michigan got to the title game with all american corner Leon Buford CB Michigan before losing to #1 Alabama and Buster McDougle. Besides Oshinowo McDougle wins the Heisman there are two Heisman winning left tackles in this draft path. Besides McDougle you got 3 quarterbacks that are the 3 best available players to draft. Those guys are Brady Wentworth who ranks 3rd on draft boards while the Milbank Bros. Darren Milbank QB Florida and Doug Milbank QB Florida State both where the number 8 and compete for the top pick in the draft. Chad Warren WR Ohio State is the best receiver in this draft.

I'll start posting draft years once I'm done with the Ozzie Jones Path. These are just summaries to give you a preview of each year in your draft path.

    Re: Mike Zazzali Draft Paths

For this path could you underline only the guys who are 90+ POT instead of just not being a bust. Also maybe giving us the balanced potential for some of the super studs like Ridge and the Syracuse RB (perhaps a Jim Brown clone?)

This path looks insane if all those guys are really superstars.

I'll tell you what. I'm still underlining players that aren't busts, but if a player has a potential of 90 or more I put a star symbol like this * to represent their a superstar player if that makes a difference. Would that help? If not I'm sorry man this takes a lot of time and effort plus I write NFL articles for this other sports site. I hope you appreciate what I'm doing. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but I got other things going on. My sophomore year is about a month away maybe even less than a month away with August nearing.

Oh i hope i didnt come off like a didnt appreciate it, i was just making a suggestion. I dont feel like i would be very happy with a 85 POT player in the first round like most probably wouldnt be and there isnt much that distinguishes them but what youre doing is awesome on here and anyway that you do it is great.

No its cool. It just seemed like you wanted more details and profile information on players like potential and how effective the player can be in certain philosophies. I can't really blame you.

            Re: Mike Zazzali Draft Paths

I thought I might make this path more exciting by adding some potential ratings by request and mention what teams did based on what happened in my head coach franchise. If I get positive feedback this will continue.

            24 superstars
            8 busts

This draft is really talented. There aren't many stand out players after round 1 so draft wisely.

Picks that stood out in round 1

            Chicago Bears
With a new coach in Chicago it was pretty clear that this Bears team would scout quarterbacks constantly in hopes of finding the right guy for the job. That hard work paid off as Zazzali has a 93 draft grade and a 97 potential rating. As Mike Zazzali was the #1 overall pick in the 2009 Mike Zazzali Draft.

            Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers traded away 2 of their best players in Gaines Adams and Davin Joseph to Carolina along with the Buccaneers 2010 1st round pick to get this pick. The Buccaneers got Sean Fogerty in the later rounds so they compensated for the loss of Joseph. Waddel can make an impact for Tampa Bay right away with his man coverage and elite soft hands. Tampa Bay has Ronde Barber and needed a #2 corner to play across Barber. The Buccaneers also got Knowshon Mincey who will make an excellent #2 corner in the future and will start out as a nickel corner and wide receiver Roscoe Lester should have a positive impact on the Buccaneers.

            Washington Redskins
The Skins take a hometown runningback as to create a 1 2 punch in Washington with Portis and Joseph Jr.

            Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons hired Michigan Head Coach Gary Hammermill. NFL Mock Drafts had the Falcons getting Chris Essex here, but Hammermill had other ideas as he signed former Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia who suffered a season ending shoulder injury before the regular season started. Rookie Andre Woodson took over at quarterback and became the first rookie quarterback to start 16 games and to win a Super Bowl in the process. With Woodson now as the permanent starter in Tampa Bay Jeff Garcia decided to go play with Hammermill and the Falcons. It was obvious the Falcons would get a left tackle to protect Garcia. Marquay Traylor was the top left tackle in this draft. The NFL Draft experts have Traylor labeled as a bust, but Hammermill sees upside and potential in him and Garcia loves Traylor as a blindside.

            Oakland Raiders
Owner Al Davis has scared every coaching candidate away. A California high school coach who was a quarterback coach for Morgan Barnes dad who was the coach of Morgan's high school team. This quarterback coach is now the new Raiders head coach. The Raiders are putting all their faith in an inexperienced high school coach who has no head coaching experience at any level let alone any coordinator experience.

            Pittsburgh Steelers
With James Farrior and Larry Foote aging it was time for the Steelers to get a young middle linebacker. Gino King should be another hall of fame middle linebacker in the Steel City known as Pittsburgh. King got 33 tackles and 5 sacks in two games at Heinz Field against the Pitt Panthers in the Backyard Brawl. A season ending injury he suffered his sophomore year against Pitt prevented him from playing in West Virginia. Would have been a top 10 pick had King returned for his senior year.

              Picks that Stood Out

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Max Moore could have gone in the top 10 or midway through the 2nd round. I find it intriguing that Tampa Bay drafted him here.

Atlanta Falcons One year after Hammermill left Michigan to join the Falcons he passes on Cyrus Jones to draft the former Wolverine Samardo McCoy. Only time will tell if this move pays off.

Cleveland Browns Cyrus Jones RB Florida State Jones led the NCAA in rushing yards and should be one of the better players in this draft.

                  22 superstars
                  10 busts

There are four busts in the first 26 picks. Picks 27-32 are busts. I'd recommend trading up into the top 25 of the draft and if you pick in the top 25 and need a left tackle make sure to get Oshinowo the 7 ft 370 lb left tackle then take the best player available if you have a 2nd pick.

Picks that stood out in round 1

Miami Dolphins The Dolphins made a transition to the 3-4 when they hired Tony Sparano in 2008. Despite 3 new coaches since then with a new coach this year the Dolphins have remained loyal hoping the 3-4 would work. In 2009 the Dolphins drafted Lorenzo Spragan hoping to convert him to nose tackle. The Dolphins 3-4 defensive line consists of Deon Drumm at left end with Spragan at nose tackle and right end Jason Taylor close to retirement. Spragan is considered a bust, but with 2 3-4 ends Spragan might make the transition to nose tackle.

San Diego Chargers The Chargers didn't resign Rivers. Sunquist was the Heisman runner up at Florida State and got the Seminoles to a national title where Florida State lost to Nebraska 10 to 3.

Detroit Lions The Lions drafted John Scotland in the first round last year. This year the Lions drafted another quarterback in round 1 in Jayson Huff. Huff was the successor to Chris Essex at Connecticut. Essex didn't live up to the NFL hype as the Cardinals quarterback, but scouts believe Huff will do better in the pros despite the fact Essex was more polished coming out of Connecticut.

Chicago Bears In 2009 the Bears took Mike Zazzali with the top pick in the draft. The Bears drafted Kenton Kasom at runningback in the 3rd round of the 2009 NFL Draft. With no receiving targets besides red zone threat tight end Greg Olsen Zazzali had no one to throw to. Marshawn Yancey should contribute right away for the Bears and become a legit target for Mike Zazzali. Maybe with the offensive talent in place Chicago can finally make the moves necessary to contend in a tough NFC conference. The Bears are spending a top 5 pick on Yancey because scouts think he's the next Marvin Harrison.

Baltimore Ravens Daymeion Portis is being compared to Antonio Gates. The Norfolk State tight end went from an undrafted prospect at the start of the season and worked his way up to being a top 10 pick simply amazing if you ask me.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Seattle originally picked at 13, but they wanted to trade down. Tampa Bay and the Super Bowl Champion Eagles both wanted to trade up to this spot. Philadelphia needed a bookend left tackle. Tampa Bay aware of this trades up and gives up a 2012 first rounder so they can claim the rights to Enoka Oshinowo. Oshinowo got the Buccaneers to the NFC Title or better with Andre Woodson as my quarterback in each of his first 6 seasons. Plus with Oshinowo and Woodson I became the first NFL team to win 3 in a row. Last years first round pick at left tackle Max Moore is being moved to right tackle after one year in the NFL. The Buccaneers also drafted Montrae Evans a stud run stuffing defensive tackle from Louisville. The Buccaneers already have a potent defensive line with Julius Peppers, Gaines Adams, and Dre Moore to go along with a second defensive tackle. Evans should fit right in with this Buccaneers defensive line. With Ronde Barber, DeMarrio Waddel, and Knowshon Mincey as the nickel corner this Buccaneer secondary should get more picks.

Philadelphia Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles got this pick from Denver at 14 and failed to get Oshinowo, but still drafted a left tackle.

Kansas City Chiefs The last quarterback that played college at Purdue got the Chiefs a Super Bowl Ring. That man was Len Dawson. This Purdue quarterback Kevin Colombus has Len Dawson's awareness and Drew Brees pinpoint accuracy. Colombus only lost 5 games in 4 years and 4 of those losses came against the Ohio State University the team Colombus never defeated.

New York Jets Julius McBeam RB Nebraska Was the Heisman frontrunner up until December. Enoka Oshinowo did a great job as a run blocker opening up lanes for him.

Atlanta Falcons Ike Bruce With Jeff Garcia nearing retirement and Roddy White as the #1 receiver. Atlanta will need another target for their new mediocre quarterback to throw to. Gary Hammermill is expected to coach up the new Falcons quarterback.

Indianapolis Colts Once again Dungy hits the jackpot drafting Whitfield a left outside linebacker from Tennessee. Another Tennessee player Dungy drafted is Jeff Meadows QB Tennessee he is expected to be the successor to Peyton Manning.

This draft is deep with talent and you might want to trade down if your drafting in the top 5.

Teams with picks that stood out in Round 1

Carolina Panthers The Panthers drafted Maximus Johnson because the Buccaneers managed to acquire Greg Jennings, Steve Smith, Chad Ochocinco, and Calvin Johnson in free agency without going over the cap room. Plus Tampa Bay has Jason Witten at tight end with Marion Barber and Ray Rice splitting carries. Quarterback Andre Woodson has two elite pass blocking offensive tackles in Enoka Oshinowo and Max Moore. Both tackles can play left tackle, but Moore is currently playing right tackle. Plus the Buccaneers have Roscoe Lester and 7 million left to spend on signing draft picks. The Buccaneers lost to the Patriots in last years Super Bowl and with all the players this Bucs team aquired they have to be the favorites with an elite pass rushing defensive line and potent secondary. Ronde Barber retired so its uncertain who plays across from DeMario Waddell at this point. With Steve Smith on the Buccaneers and gone from the Panthers the Panthers don't have a receiver to play across from Moses McDonald. Maximus Johnson was an extra during Waddell's senior year when Waddell worked on his coverage skills against receivers. Johnson has improved tremendously since that point and the experience of being covered by a pro bowl corner in Waddell had to have benefitted his game. Because of this Maximus Johnson is the first pick in the draft. Only Alfred Byrd of Arizona State and Jammario Zinger are ranked ahead of him on top 5 wide receivers to draft.

Miami Dolpins Charles Harrison is 6 ft 6 320 pounds. The Kansas nose tackle will replace NFL bust Lorenzo Spragan in the Dolphins 3-4. Harrison is an excellent run stuffer who helped a winless 0-12 Kansas Jayhawk team finish 12th out of 120 FBS college football teams. So thanks to Harrison the Jayhawks finished in the top 10 percent of college football teams with elite run defenses though. The only reason Harrison got selected this high is because of his play in the senior bowl where he limited Cletis Parker to 52 rushing yards and he caused 5 sacks and a forced fumble in the game. Harrison also put up 50 reps on the bench press at the combine. He ran a 5.20 40 time which is really bad, but normal timing for a nose tackle. I wouldn't draft Harrison though because he has 68 potential and an 81 potential in a 3-4 scheme. His awareness is 55 with a 48 in intangibles, and a 38 in learning rate. Harrison has a 72 rating in tackling which is okay, but also very inconsistent. Harrison has a 99 in size, a 98 in skills, and a 97 in durability. In other words Charles Harrison has all the physical skill set to succeed in the NFL, but he doesn't have the mental skill set meaning he will be out of the league in 3 years in my opinion.

San Diego Chargers The Chargers take a another quarterback who lost in the National Title this time the Chargers draft Hawaii's Taylor Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum lost to the Buckeyes in this years National Title in Pasedena and the year before that Tannenbaum and the Hawaii Warriors won the Poinsetta Bowl over SMU 49-0. The Poinsetta Bowl is played at Qualcomm Stadium home of the Chargers. There has been much debate over drafting Tannenbaum or Stanton first, but the Chargers like Tannenbaum better because he threw for more yards than Stanton in the National Title game.

San Francisco 49ers Jonathan James is being labeled as the second coming of Jonathan Joseph. The 5 ft 6 160 lb corner ran a 4.28 40 at the combine and did a 38 inch vertical. A 38 inch vertical for a 5-6 corner. Damn that's impressive for a 5 ft 11 corner, but wow a 38 inch vertical for a 5 ft 6 corner I'm speechless. Still James has a 78 in man coverage. A 58 in zone coverage. James has a 42 in press coverage. Joseph has a 55 in size and a 66 in physical ability. He has a 99 in durability though. Joseph has a 72 in intangibles with a 48 in learning. James has a potential of 71. So James is a workout warrior with an impressive combine, but nothing more. Still he could struggle against tall physical receivers like Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Calvin Johnson.

Houston Texans Matt Schaub enters the final year of his deal and Houston still has yet to reach the playoffs. Gary Kubiak is still employed and the Texans are ready to move on without Schaub as Kubiak plans on grooming Trent Stanton for the future. Kubiak said, "Stanton reminds me of a young Elway." In Head Coach.

Chicago Bears The Bears didn't put an RFA tag on Kenton Kasom so they need to draft a new runningback. The Bears took Montrell Frost at #6. Don't get me wrong Frost will be a superstar, but Zazzali quarterback Mike Zazzali is unhappy that the Bears passed on Cletis Parker a 2nd round sleeper compared to Frank Gore and Ohio State runningback Marqueis Webb. Zazzali has been with the Bears since he was the top pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, but has yet to reach the playoffs due to an aging defense and lousy supporting cast on offense. Still Zazzali has thrown more touchdowns than picks in each of his 4 seasons.

St. Louis Rams Daven Murray is one of 3 elite Texas receivers in this draft that could get drafted in the first round. Murray was the go to guy and primary target at Texas. He was also the flanker which is a term for your primary receiver. The Rams also took Luther Monroe at pick 15. The Rams have the pieces to get back to the playoffs. Marc Bulger is now 38, but he hasn't been sacked as much lately. Stephen Jackson is still the primary back. Blake Walton and Daven Murray the rookie are expected be a younger version of Issac Bruce and Torry Holt. Paul Abbamonte is replacing Orlando Pace at left tackle. Right End Chris Long is the Rams right end. With Michael Kunnif at right outside linebacker entering year 2 and with Luther Monroe at left outiside linebacker. Randy McMichael is still the Rams tight end, but like Bulger should retire after the year.

Oakland Raiders Jammario Zinger is a 6 ft 6 239 pound receiver out of USC who ran a 4.19 40. Zinger is an excellent route runner who can make spectacular one handed catches. At the combine this year receiver did this drill where they had to catch the ball with one hand. The receivers were thrown 10 passes. Zinger caught 9 of 10 passes with one hand. Plus he played all 4 years at USC. Zinger caught a Hail Mary VS Washington at the Collosium in 2009 to keep USC's title hopes alive before they lost to Florida as a true freshman. Only Maximus Johnson caught more balls with one hand as he caught 10 passes with one hand. Still many draft experts had Zinger as the best wide receiver in this draft. Drew Thompson has had success his first two years in Oakland throwing more touchdowns than picks his rookie and sophomore years despite failing to make the playoffs. With a go to target in Zinger who started out as a Hail Mary receiver as a true freshman. Working his way up to the go to guy by his junior year at USC Zinger should help franchise quarterback Drew Thompson get the Raiders to the playoffs.

Washington Redskins After the Redskins parted ways with Clinton Portis they draft a #2 runningback to compliment Adrian Joseph Jr. The Redskins drafted DeMarcus Patten the Cincinnati runningback.

Green Bay Packers Alfred Byrd will replace Greg Jennings and Donald Driver said he would retire after the season so the Packers had to get a receiver here. Byrd was considered to be the best receiver in the draft after Zinger.

Buffalo Bills The Bills passed on Indiana quarterback Jordan Harwell and Nebraska quarterback Jon Parsons who was a part of last years Huskers national title team as a junior. Parsons wanted to prove he could win without Oshinowo and runningback Julius McBeam. Parson's didn't win a 2nd national title, but people say him and quarterback Jordan Harwell are the sleepers of the draft. The Bills ended up drafting Chase Ballard a 6 ft 5 238 lb quarterback with a 97 in arm strength. A 57 in accuracy 57 in short accuracy, 68 in medium accuracy, and 91 in deep accuracy. Ballard has an awareness rating of 48 with an intangibles rating of 38 and a learning rate of 28. Ballard has 90 potential in the strong arm/tools philosophy while his potential is 65 in any other quarterback philosophy. Also you have to use vertical for your offensive philosophy because of his arm. All Parsons can do is chuck the ball deep.

Baltimore Ravens The Ravens draft Dylan Turner at right tackle. Virginia Tech continues to develop elite right tackles.

Seattle Seahawks The Seahawks drafted an elite tight end in Rodriques Smith. In round 2 they drafted Jordan Harwell QB Indiana. Holmgren has taken quarterbacks not drafted in the first rounder and developed them into franchise quarterbacks Steve Young at BYU and San Francisco as a quarterback coach, Joe Montana as a 49er quarterback coach, Brett Favre as a head coach, Marc Brunell as backup when Green Bay drafted him before the Jaguars got Brunell in the Expansion draft where Brunell would go on to be a pro bowler. Matt Hasselbeck who was a backup to Favre and Holmgren's system in Green Bay before he started and now Holmgren's next quarterback he wants to groom is Jordan Harwell.

New Orleans Saints The Saints now have a 3 back system with Michael Turner as the primary back. Cullen Davenport as a #2 back. And Reggie Bush as a third down back.

Atlanta Falcons Hammermill once again hits the jackpot on draft day. Despite not having a franchise quarterback the Falcons are picking 19th in the draft which means they did relatively well without Jeff Garcia last year. With Jonathan Abraham retiring this year Hammermill took Tayshawn Chamberlain who was a top 5 pick in Todd McShay's first mock draft heading into free agency.
Here's what the draft looked like with the top 5 picks
Carolina Panthers Taylor Tannenbaum QB Hawaii ranked 1st on the draft board.
Miami Dolphins Trent Stanton QB Ohio State ranked 2nd on the draft board.
San Diego Chargers Jammario Zinger WR USC ranked 5th on the draft board.
San Francisco 49ers Jonathan James CB South Carolina ranked 3rd on the draft board.
Houston Texans Tayshawn Chamberlain RE Florida State ranked 4th on the draft board and expected to switch to left end with Mario Williams on the Texans.
The point is Hammermill got a huge steal landing a top 5 pick at #19.

Jacksonville Jaguars The Jaguars keep making the playoffs, but David Garrard feels the team could go further into the playoffs with some elite receivers. #2 option at Texas TT Haygood is finally going to get his shot at being a go to guy in Jacksonville.

Minnesota Vikings Jerome Morales is going to get a chance at being the go to guy with the Vikings. Sidney Rice has been solid, but Minnesota thinks he is a #2 option down the road.

Detroit Lions The Lions draft Marqueis Webb the MVP of the Hawaii VS Ohio State National title. Webb had 300 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in a 28 to 21 victory.

Arizona Cardinals in 2008 the Cardinals drafted Dominique Rodgers Cromartie and they didn't resign him. Two years later the Cardinals drafted cornerback Brandon Biggs out of North Carolina in the top 10. Now the Cardinals decide to draft Rodney Lugo to replace Cromartie giving the Cardinals a 1 2 punch on the secondary. Lugo is being compared to Ronde Barber. Quarterback Matt Leinart continues to make the passing game potent in Arizona. Lugo is a much better prospect than Jonathan James because he is a better long term player and you pay less. Just like with Rakeem Jordan and Durant Riley the future 50 player from Texas

Cincinnati Bengals The Bengals drafted Roscoe Utley who is being compared to Ed Reed, but his potential is only 77 with an awareness of 75, intangibles of 73, and a learning rate of 71.

Philadelphia Eagles DaShay Woodson is being labeled as the next Larry Fitzgerald. He fell to #29 in this really deep wide receiver draft. Looks like the Eagles continue to stack up on talent.

New England Patriots Darius Richardson will replace Matt Light who plans on retiring next year. Nick Kaczur left the team to go to the Falcons in 2011. So Richardson could start at right tackle this year, but will probably back up Matt Light and learn the system.

Picks that stood out in Round 1

Buffalo Bills The 0-16 Bills drafted Axelrod with the first pick. Then they went 11-5 and got to the playoffs.

San Francisco 49ers The 49ers needed a shutdown corner and drafted Arnez Soriano.

Carolina Panthers The Panthers needed a true left tackle and drafted Vernon Kennedy.

Baltimore Ravens The Ravens needed a shutdown corner and drafted Darrelle Harris.

Arizona Cardinals With Brandon Biggs and Rodney Lugo the Cardinals shouldn't take another corner. However they took Tee Morgan the other future 50 corner in this draft path.

Phialdelphia Eagles DeAngleo Barkely LT USC The Eagles draft another left tackle, but this time he's not a bust.

                          27 superstars
                          5 busts

This draft is bad early in the top 5, but the second half of round one is loaded with potential can't miss prospects.

Picks that stood out in round 1.

Green Bay Packers Kory York QB San Jose State The Packers drafted Kory York because they needed a franchise quarterback. They passed on Carmello Goldwire and Will Swecker.

Carolina Panthers Vonteego Cross LE South Carolina. 12 years ago the Panthers drafted left end Julius Peppers out of North Carolina now the Panthers have drafted left ends in both Carolina states. Cross is the only future 50 defensive end in head coach.

New York Jets Carmello Goldwire QB Central Florida Is a potential bust that reminds many of a young Daunte Culpepper.

Chicago Bears Larry Brewington RB Jackson State He's being compared to Walter Payton.

San Francisco 49ers Will Swecker QB UCLA Swecker took over as a freshman once Drew Thompson left the UCLA Bruins to go pro. Thompson plays on the Oakland Raiders.

Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles added Jaamal Zimmerman to boost their offensive line.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Your Super Bowl Champions are led by Andre Woodson. His receivers last year include Chad Johnson now Ochocinco who retired. Steve Smith who is coming back with a 2 year contract extension, Calvin Johnson who has 4 years left on his deal, Greg Jennings has two years left on his deal and 2009 first round pick Roscoe Lester who got a 2 year extension with the Buccaneers. Tight End Jason Witten is still in his prime and this team is loaded offensively. With right tackle Max Moore gone Brock Covington a left tackle prospect will move to right tackle to play besides Enoka Oshinowo. The Buccaneers return a potent offense with Marion Barber and Ray Rice continuing to split carries and the defense is strong enough to win ball games with a deadly front 7 and a pass defense led by DeMario Waddell and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris who has held that position since 2013. Since Oshinowo was drafted in 2011 the Buccaneers made the NFC Title game each year now they have won a Super Bowl 3 years later after coming so close in the past.
