    Does the CPU take penalties?

I have played about 10 games of 2k6, and I average about 5 penalties a game.

In all the games I have played, the computer has not had one darn penalty. Not ONE. I haven't had the chance to set up my PP at all yet.

Anyone experiencing the same thing? Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?

What skill level are you playing? What slider settings adjustments have you made?

At All-Star, with dropping game speed to 2 and equalizing CPU and human speed burst and offense as my only slider changes, I'm seeing plenty of penalties from both sides.

This may sound like a dumb question, so please don't take offense, but you're cycling and working the puck around your offensive zone before shooting, right? That will lead to CPU penalties, as the CPU will be a step behind your passes and commit an interference, roughing, slashing or spearing penalty more often than not.

If you play this game EA NHL style, skating up and down the wings with the puck and either blasting a slapper or curling toward the net for a wrister, you won't get a lot of power plays.

    Good luck!

    Take care,
    PK

I get ATLEAST 5 powerplays a game...it all depends on your settings. Go into setup and change the game settings to 'sim' and you should have no problems getting powerplays. To add what Pk just said, the more you cycle the puck in the offensive zone, the more the cpu gets aggressive. The cpu gets tonnes of interference calls when you cycle behind or when you crash the net. I'm having SOOOO much fun playing this game on SIM settings at the pro level. Powerplays FINALLY feel like a gift from god, and PK's feel like the spawn of SATAN!

      They finally got it right!

        I use pengman's sliders from 2khockey.

I get about 3-5 powerplays a game. Also the goalie blocker goal is pretty much fixed with his sliders.

Re: Does the CPU take penalties?

The first five or so games I played I was with Venom's sliders, the last five were with Pengman's. All games have been all-star level.

I don't think I'm playing the game EA styles or anything. I've been a 2k hockey guy exclusively since I try and avoid the urge to just speedburst up the ice and deke through everybody with one player every time I touch the puck. I do cycle in the offensive zone, and try to work it around as if I WERE on a PP in hopes of spotting an open man in position for a scoring chance.

I will try a few more slider settings, including PK's sugestion, as well as Nivek's. I think I may need to switch from all-star to pro anyhow. The cpu is a little too good for me on all-star I think. I can beat it but it beats me more.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, hopefully I'll be seeing some PP time soon.

I use Venom's on All-Star and have no problems at all. Cheers!

I'm having just the opposite problem. The CPU is getting called for tons of penalties, and me not so many. And I am swarming them defensively, so I don't understand why I'm not getting called.
