"Disk Read Error" HELP!

My ps2 wont stop saying "disk read error" ive taken the ps2 appart and cleaned the lazer about 4 times the past 2 days, none worked. I know the disk works fine as I had it at a buddy's house the night before and it worked fine. Whats wrong with my ps2 and how can I make it better?

Try lightly sanding the spinner that rests on top of the CD/DVD and actually makes it spin so that it is slightly rough. This will help it get a better grip on the game. I have done it myself and it worked. Just make sure you don't go overboard on the sanding and use some canned air to get rid of any stray particles left behind.
