I loved Tony LaRussa Baseball II on the PC. I actually just created rosters for 2016. Is there any interest in sharing them?

Backyard Baseball. One of the best games ever made.

Re: Other retro baseball games did you play?

I posted last year but am sticking with my guns. Ken Griffey Baseball for Snes. I was able to find a rom that has the 2017 rosters. I also downloaded the editing tool so I could get Panda off my Red Sox....Price is next if he's not careful.

Still my favorite game.

Re: Other retro baseball games did you play?

I went on a retro kick not too long ago, snatching up as many NES baseball carts as I could find. Sure I can always play these games on emulators (I have an OUYA for this very purpose), but I do enjoy collecting the originals if the price is right.

It's amazing how well the gameplay holds up with the NES-era baseball games. Back then it seemed as though other sports games were still finding their footing (with the exception of Blades of Steel and Tecmo Bowl), but the majority of baseball games are still a blast to play to this day. Nintendo, SNK, Namco, Culture Brain, Jaleco, Tecmo, they all produced great NES baseball games. Just like baseball was tailor-made for radio, it also seems like the sport was tailor-made for early-era video gaming.

Re: Other retro baseball games did you play?

Man, what games DIDN'T I play...

NES--Baseball Stars, RBI Baseball I, II, and III, Bases Loaded I, II, and III, Baseball Simulator 1.000, Baseball (NES original), Major League Baseball (awful LJN game), Legends of the Diamond, Bo Jackson Baseball, Roger Clemens MVP Baseball, Bad News Baseball, Little League Baseball, and Tecmo Baseball

Genesis--Sports Talk Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball, RBI Baseball 94, Triple Play (whole series), World Series Baseball (whole series), Hardball III, MLBPA (the one with players and no teams), and Tony LaRussa Baseball

SNES--Began and ended with Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball

PS1--All the Triple Play games up to 2001

Very true statement. I think it's because baseball is a game that lends itself to more of an arcade experience because it's inherently simulation style rules wise. And that top down viewpoint was easy to maximize graphics wise. Kinda why I'm so surprised Tecmo didn't try to make another baseball game. The way they improved on Tecmo Bowl ---> Tecmo Super Bowl in terms of graphics and presentation...I think a baseball game with even just the MLBPA license could have been incredible around 1991
