I have NO CLUE why he was talking about the Chargers, pretty random IMO.

Re: Arena Football

I really liked this game, that vid made me want to play it again.

Loads of unlockables, good season type franchise mode. Good custom options.. Plenty of classic teams/Jerseys. Weakest part was the audio but I could live with that.

And thanks for the chargers info lol.

Re: Arena Football

I actually had(and still have) one of the EA Sports Arena Football games for PS2; I had the original one with the Colorado Crush player on the cover for a while, but sold it when I got Arena Football: Road To Glory.

As a Seattle area resident I think it's pretty great that Everett's team is in the game(Everett is North of Seattle by the way); although it would be nice if Seattle or Tacoma got a team, although I could definitely create teams from those cities.

One interesting thing that i've thought of doing is looking up info on AF2 teams that aren't included in Road To Glory, or old Arena or other Indoor football league teams and create those teams in Road To Glory, now tha would be cool.

By the way, this is my inaugural post here so...

But rest assured I will definitely have other posts here

This was a fun little gem, too bad it never sold enough to get releases on the PS3 and 360.

Yeah I really enjoyed the first game they put out. It`s a shame that it never came to next generation and got a little more depth added to it.

Re: Arena Football

Bumping this very old topic as I found Arena Football (Xbox) at my local swap meet for two bucks this weekend. Having never played the game before, I'm surprised at how much fun it is. It harkens back to the old days of sports gaming when everything was EXTREEEEME™: Pyro, explosions, corny dialogue, hidden unlockables, nu-metal soundtrack, and plenty of trash talking and illegal hits. Arena Football is like a weird combination of NFL Blitz and, well, arena football. I'm digging it.

The game looks and plays surprising well on the Xbox 360. A bit of slowdown here and there but nothing too distracting. It has a native widescreen mode and whatever upscaling is going on here gives the uniform textures quite a bit of clarity.

I was never a huge AFL fan, I went to a few Avengers games back in the day and a Portland Thunder vs. Spokane (I forget the name) in the new league more recently. Are the unlockable teams in this game actual defunct AFL teams or are they fantasy teams?

EDIT: I did some research and learned that the unlockables are defunct AFL teams. Now I'm wondering what the limit is on created teams, seems like there's potential to add a ton of content to this game. I may try maxing out the CAT slots tonight.

Re: Arena Football

The Arena Football games were a good switch up from Madden every now and then. I liked to imagine a minor league system whereby I would transfer free agents who couldn't make it onto teams in my Madden franchise onto my Arena Football franchise.
