NFL 2K15 (Coming Soon?) Mobile Phone Game

As stated in the title, apparently on a list by Phone Arena for best mobile phone sports games of the year, there is a spot for a NFL 2K15!! That's right, an NFL 2K15. No word if this is by the actual 2K Sports, and when exactly it is coming, but it's something to speculate about.

to at least release them on console as an arcade game.

All Pro Football with glitches fixed, graphical upgrade, all custom players with limits on how ratings get assigned.

The file size for APF was tiny. There's plenty of arcade games that make money, and there isn't much that has to be changed for the All Pro engine.

If only it was easy as just typing that out to make it happen. Re-architecting the game and tossing it on a new platform isn't a small feat for the most part though and the game wasn't supported before so not sure removing the gimmick and releasing it even more vanilla would be something that'd be easy to sell to higher-ups. Probably can't even release the original on PS Now because of licensing.

As for NFL2k15, neither Take Two or 2k are licensees of NFL Players still/yet FWIW.

True but the mobile space is unaffected by the exclusive deal so I guess this is their shot in a way. Who knows if it does well on the mobile space maybe that will be the "umph" needed to get it back on the console space. I never agree with Mestevo but I have to say he does have a point...It will be more of loss than a profit if released. Hell, you never know though, we the state of affairs sports gaming in, especially foorball. Ppl are clamoring to get a breathe of fresh air, All we can do is hope and pray.

Re: NFL 2K15 (Coming Soon?) Mobile Phone Game

Two thoughts:

1 - here we go again.

2 - a successful mobile football video game isn't going to play anything like a successful console football video game. The touch interface and effective requirement of a freemium release (the app is given away for free, but it pushes the hell out of in-app purchases and expects to make its money through users making lots of them) mandates a different sort of game design than a typical boxed release.

Translation - in the hypothetical world where 2K ports NFL 2K5 / APF 2K8 and calls it a day without any consideration for the advantages and disadvantages of the mobile platform - which really, is what most console sports game developers have done to this point on mobile - the game will bomb and it will not be an enjoyable experience.

I hear ya CM, man can dream though lol. At least we have some form of 2K football. Of course the mobile would not be up to par & from what I understand you saying, that if they simply port it over it would be awful. Hopefully visual concepts will not go that route
