Re: Canadian Football 17

I doubt I'll be supporting it. I don't really see anything here that says these guys can actually make anything that is worth spending money on or putting time into playing on my XB1. A game like this would be cool 10 years ago. But in 2016? Sorry, but you need to do better. I'd rather play titles like Casey Powell Lacrosse that are actually worthy of being XB1 games and show real promise of developing into something bigger.

It's also a really big red flag for me that sites like Operation Sports and Pasta Padre haven't shown any interest in this game, and Canuck Play told me that directly in a message on Facebook.

Nice to see another company trying, but 2k will be the only true competition.

Let's not turn this into that kind of thread.

I think, for a game that is considered "half way through developement", it is pretty promising.
Though I wouldn't have shown anything yet, especially not, when it is a sportsgame. People expect too much eyecandy at any point of developement, It's just that all those fancy assets come in later, when the focus shifted from working mechanics to feature completing and polishing.

Genuine question: what about this is promising? The gameplay looks dated. I've never seen a game on this generation of system that is 8 months from going to production that looks this bad.

Re: Canadian Football 17

First of all: It really looks and feels outdated right now, but I did not expect to see, what you expected to see from the game. That's why we have a different point of view.

It looks promising, because the mechanics are working. The O-line blocks, the WRs catch the ball, the sound framework is in place already (crowd reacts to different situations)...etc. You could play a game, and I think that was a development milestone for them, which might be the reason, why they reached out to the public.

What it becomes, will be determined by what they do from now on. I would expect them to add more life to the game. Guess I diddn't see any WR running in from the backfield, to start a route with more speed. They'll improve the feeling of the game, more realism. The UI will be improved, textures, animations...all that stuff. And meanwhile they'll start on the most important part for me...features and overall gameplay.

So that looks promising for me. If the stuff looks like that at when they consider the game being a Beta, I'd be disappointed.
