Re: EA exclusive NFL agreement

It's not illegal, so not sure why it's sad in that context. Sad about not having options, sure?

And even that's bunk, there are options. By my count we will have five gridiron football-themed video games released by the end of this calendar year:

- Madden NFL 18 (late August / early September)
- Axis Football 18 (August)
- Canadian Football 2017 (June)
- Mutant League Football (est. October)
- Front Office Football 8 (released this past January)

On paper, 2017 is probably going to produce the greatest number of options for football gamers of any year in the past decade.

Heck, we might possibly see six games if that one maligned VR title ever gets its act together.

Thus why I said there's no legal recourse to end it. It's sad because it can't be fought and we're stuck with Madden. Some may be okay and content with that. I'm not.

Not NFL-licensed options on consoles, was my point.

Only madden is on console, NFL licensed and produced by a AAA studio. These other games are go fund projects designed by one or two guys. Hardly real options.

Like reading a menu and seeing they offer Ice tea....but if you don't enjoy that you can choose dirty dishwater, pond scum or urine.

Business hasn't changed over the past several years and neither have the comments.

The business won't change until the NFL bust up their successful business model.

After 12 years, I think most of us get that. Doesn't make it any better of a pill to swallow. The NFL's "successful" business model is akin to celebrating a sweat shop.

Sure Nike makes a ton of cash paying people in 3rd world countries 3 dollars a day to make shoes they sell for over $100 a pair. Doesn't mean unemployed American workers should applaud their shrewd business sense.

Re: EA exclusive NFL agreement

Guys, I'm just going to close this at this point.

As I look through this, everyone participating in this thread are the same who have shared this same conversation through a multitude of threads over the years.

We're not going to convince anyone in this thread to change their mind.

Don't get me wrong, the conversation has been very civil and mature.

But when we get to the level of comparing a video game company to a sweat shop we're just showing that there is nowhere productive we can go from here.
