Arsenal Football Club | November 2016 Update

Group Stage | Matchday #4
Ajax 0 - 0 Arsenal

A defensive stalemate which saw brilliant goalkeeping and inept attacking from both sides.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matchday #11
Spurs 0 - 1 Arsenal
ARS - Oxlade-Chamberlain 90’

The North London Derby did not disappoint, with the Ox hitting the bar 2 minutes into stoppage time, only to find the back of the next a mere 2 minutes later at the death.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matchday #12
Arsenal 0 - 2 Manchester United
MUN - Herrera 50’, Pogba 71’

Paul Pogba nets his first PL goal, as a late first half red card for Arsenal Captain Laurent Koscielny held Arsenal scoreless.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Group Stage | Matchday #5
Arsenal 1 - 0 FC Basel
ARS - Giroud 50’

The Ox found French striker Olivier Giroud for a wicked goal to put the gunners tied atop Group A with 1 to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matchday #13
Bournemouth 0 - 3 Arsenal
ARS - Sánchez 16’, 29’, Özil 90’

Arsenal too strong for the Cherries. A first half Alexis brace was enough to do them in and secure the 3 points for the Gunners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Premier League Top Scorers
1. Sanchez (ARS) - 13
2. Defoe (SUN) - 7

Most impressive stat is no draws through 13 PL matches lol. Great start to the season.

Indeed.

Thanks for checking in. Only draw was a 0-0 CL match with Ajax.

2 of my 3 losses have been v Chelsea and Man United. Both games Koscielny got a red lol.

Just moved up to legendary as of the United match.

Arsenal Resign Captain

Koscielny Has Started All 17 Premier League Games

LONDON -- Arsenal, who currently sit atop the Premier League, have resigned their captain and French International Laurent Koscielny to a 1 year extension. Koscielny's contract was set to expire in June, so the Gunners are elated to have the contract negotiations signed, sealed and delivered prior to the extremely busy festive period, and looming January Transfer Window. Having just turned 31 in September, only 1 year has been added to the deal, signing him through June of 2018, making Ł140,000/week at The Emirates.

In lesser news, Arsenal have also resigned promising youngster, Ainsley Maitland-Miles to a 3 year extension. Maitland-Niles, just 19 has been in the Arsenal Academy since he was just 6 years old--and the Gunners are pleased to keep the home grown talent to see how he develops. He features mostly as a defensive midfielder, but also has seen limited action at right back.
