Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

CHAMPIONS!
The last match of the season does not matter anymore for QPR as they have won the league with the victory over Nottingham. Jamie Mackie's goal will go down in QPR history as the goal that promoted the side and won the league championship.
"It's an incredible feeling to be part of something like this. We battled all season, had some big injuries but guys kept stepping up. I'm happy to have scored but in the end it doesn't matter who scored. We are going up!" Mackie screamed as his teammates mobbed him after the match.
Max Wolters stood on the sideline and watched his players celebrate the victory as they hoisted the trophy up and down at midfield. "This is only the start. Being promoted and winning the league were our goals this season and we accomplished both. The next step is to set bigger goals for next season and accomplish those as well."

Watch the QPR celebration here from the team youtube channel.

"We are not going to think of any roster moves or contracts or anything for a few days. Just take it all in and enjoy. The coaches will get together in a few days and decide how we want to approach this next season in a new league."

Wolters will have some key midfield spots to fill as the plan of buying Josh Onomah will have to go on hold following an ACL tear. Ravel Morrison's loan deal with Lazio is up and QPR will not be able to afford his price tag of 12 million pounds. But Da Silva Lopes and Kaja stepped up big at the end of the season and will be looking to fight over the starting CAM role next season. Will Wolters trust these two young players to control his midfield?

At the back Steven Caulker has requested a move, selling him will bring QPR at least 5 million in spending money. Wolters has also expressed interest in selling some of the players QPR loaned out this season to lower the squad number and bring in more money to buy a few playmakers.

The biggest lose for the R's will be LuaLua whos loan is up. QPR are going to go hard to bring him back but the price will not be cheap and with so many holes to fill wasting all the transfer budget on one player is not a viable option at this time.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

Premier League Match Day 1
Leeds United

Pre-match
QPR open the Premier League season with a familiar foe as they take on Leeds United. Leeds finished last season in 5th place but won the playoff to earn promotion. Max Wolters has never beat Leeds losing both attempts in the Championship.

Key Events
29' CHANCE - QPR miss a key chance as Kaja plays a through ball for Sylla but his shot goes to the right of the post.
54' GOAL - Leeds strike first! Wood backs into Onouha and makes a quick turn firing a right footed shot past Smithies.
84' GOAL - That should do it. Wood with his 2nd goal of the match, this time on a header from a corner cross.

Final

Not the start QPR fans were hoping for as Wolters fails to beat Leeds for the 3rd time in a row. "Sometimes you have a team that plays you well. For us, that's Leeds. 3 matches against them and we have yet to score. Just one of those strange events but we are excited about the season starting and have some new guys coming next week that everyone is buzzing about. Our hopes are still high."

Premier League Match Day 2
Sunderland

Pre-match
Coming off the defeat to Leeds, QPR travel to the Stadium of Light for a match against Sunderland. QPR played Sunderland last season in the EFL cup, losing 3-0.

Key Events
14' MISS - Sunderland have a great chance to take an early lead off a corner but the header goes over the bar.
77' GOAL - It's the new guy Samual scoring a goal in his debut for QPR and scoring QPRs first Premier League goal of the season! Charging in from the left corner of the box, Samual taps the rebound off the keeper into the net.
88' MISS - Adams has a chance to score his first QPR goal but hits the post. The rebound comes right back at him but he sails the shot high. Rough start for the new striker.
Final

"It's exciting to get our first league win, especially against a club that many think we will be battling with in the relegation zone. Though it's way too early to think about any of that. We are going to enjoy this win and then prepare for a big week next week vs two of the top clubs."
QPR will be playing Manchester City in the EFL cup on Tuesday and then hosting London rivals Tottenham Saturday at Loftus Road.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

EFL Cup Rd. 2
Manchester City

Pre-Match
Tough draw for QPR as they have Manchester City in their first match of the EFL cup. This is the first time Max Wolters has faced Man City in his coaching career.

Post Match
Man City completely dominated the 2nd half after QPR put up a surprisingly strong 1st 45 minutes. QPR came out on the attack and had a few early chances but could not capitalize on them. Man City came out in the 2nd half with a more attacking game plan, hitting QPR on the counter attack to create chances until Kolarov was finally able to score on a rebound to give City the lead. After the goal it was all City as they added 2 more goals and did not allow a shot in the last 15 minutes of the match.
"That's the type of game that separates the best teams and the good teams. We hit them and had them on the back foot for 45 minutes but they did not let up. They hit us back in the 2nd half and we couldn't do anything about it."
