Re: Last Ride - WWE 2K17 Universe Mode

Very intrigued to see where this goes especially with the NJW guys because they are basically starting with a clean slate whenever they come in so I'm excited to see what gimmicks and storylines you give them.

Re: Last Ride - WWE 2K17 Universe Mode

Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to Judgement Day! We are here for some epic battles, and I will be calling it all alongside my partner, Jerry "The King" Lawler!

Jerry Lawler: Thank you JR, I am very excited for tonight, and everything that happens throughout the matches! We have The Undertaker and Stone Cold in a No Holds Barred match for the WWF Championship, and also the other half of the Two Man Power Trip, Triple H is defending his Intercontinental Championship against Kurt Angle!

Jim Ross: That is right King, and it all started back when Kurt Angle won the battle royal three weeks ago to get this opportunity, but it all went downhill when Triple H saw the man hugging his wife!

Intercontinental Championship Match:
Triple H (c) w/Stephanie McMahon vs. Kurt Angle
- Triple H attacks Kurt Angle before the bell is rung, and before Kurt was even able to put his straps up. He slams Angle's arm into the ring post and then hits it with a chair on the outside before rolling Kurt into the ring and attaching a chain to Kurt's now injured arm.
- Kurt tries to make a comeback with shots with his good arm and whipping Triple H with the chain. However, Hunter yanks the chain causing Kurt to fall in pain, he then goes to the outside using the chain to wrench Kurt's arm over the top rope.
- Triple H works over Kurt's arm some more before going for a chair again, however, Kurt yanks Triple H into the ringpost causing him to hit himself with the chair, causing Triple H to be busted open.
- Jim Ross informs everyone that this match has been made into a hardcore match as both men are continuing the insult.
- Kurt wraps the chain around Triple H's face and wrenches back. Then as Triple H tries to roll out of the ring Kurt uses the chain to hangman him.
Kurt goes up top for the Moonsault but Triple H drags him off the top rope.
- They continue to go back and forth. Triple H goes for a Pedigree but Kurt takes out Triple H's legs and then drops a knee to the groin.
- Kurt goes up top and comes off the top with the chain to Triple H's face. -
- Kurt then hits an Angle Slam, and looks set to win the match before Austin runs down to the ring. Kurt fights off Austin who falls outside, but then gets a chair. Kurt grabs Triple H as Austin runs at Angle with the chair but inadvertently hits the top of Triple H's head, but has Triple went down to the ground he took and awkward fall, and grabbed his quad... Stone Cold hits the Stone Cold Stunner dropping Angle to the mat, leaving both The Game and Angle on the ground out cold.
- As Stone Cold is walking up the ramp he turns around to see what he has done, but then as he turns around again to go up the ramp he is met with a huge spear by Edge!
- Edge and Christian run to the ring, and put Angle's corpse on top of Triple H's for the victory!

Spoiler

Jim Ross: What a match that was! A scheduled one on one match turned into a hellacious hardcore match!

Jerry Lawler: What were Edge and Christian doing coming down here, and getting their nose in Triple H's and Stone Cold's business!? There will be hell to pay for that!

William Regal vs. Rikishi
- Rikishi goes a Stinkface early but Regal hits a low blow out of the referee's view and then beats down on Rikishi.
- Rikishi comes back and hits the butt thrust in the corner followed by the Stinkface. Regal pulls a face like he's going to throw up and walks around the outside.
- Rikishi sends Regal back in and Regal send Rikishi's injured shoulder into the post and then hits the Regal Cutter.

Spoiler

*Analysis: Quick opener to warm up the crowd who enjoyed cheering for the Stinkface. I believe Rikishi has a legitimate shoulder injury which might end up seeing him out for the rest of the year which they somewhat played on in the finish.*

Jim Ross: Oh by God we are about to have a brawl on our hands! Kane and The Rock have been both trying to fight off injuries, with Kane and his broken arm, and The Rock and his strained groin. Now both men are prepared for war as they have a number one contender's match up next!

Number One Contender Match for WWF Championship:
The Rock vs. Kane
He allows the Rock to pose for the crowd and now the staredown begins. They slug it out. Kane staggers him with a big right and a few more. Rock fires back but the Rock Bottom is blocked and the Rock is knocked to the floor with Kane in hot pursuit. Kane hammers him with alacrity, beating him all over the place. Kane backs off the ref who tries to pull him away from the Rock. Rock hits him with the bell and now he gets in a flurry but he is kneed and dropped throat first onto the barrier. Kane works him over, rolls him back into the ring, gets two and another two count after a suplex. Kane punches him into the corner but the Rock rocks him with a few blows but is whipped into the corner. Rock gets the knee up but is picked up and sideslammed. Two count. Kane punches him back into the corner and shoots him into the ropes. He lowers his head and is kicked. Samoan Drop, but Kane rises up. Rock keeps after him with a DDT and he gets a two count. Kane is back up Rock is relentless and strikes with a spinebuster. People's Elbow time! Kane rises up and goozles him but Rock nails him but runs into a powerslam. Kane goes up top but is punched off the top rope after a few blows and topples to the floor. Rock heads after him and runs him into the barrier but Kane returns the favor, and the Rock runs into the ref. Kane stomps on the Rock. Kane attempts to plow The Rock through the barricade, but Rock moves, and both men are laid out and the ref finally crawls back into the ring and he begins the count. Rock gets in at eight and so does Kane. Rock staggers into the chokeslam! Kane has the win but for some reason the ref is wallowing and the fans count along....Rock barely gets the shoulder up. Kane decks the Rock and hits him again but he is grabbed: Rock Bottom!

Spoiler

Jim Ross: We might be getting Stone Cold and The Rock one more time! Stone Cold is coming into the Main Event as Champion, and The Rock is now the Number One Contender!

Tag Team Championship Match:
Edge & Christian (c) vs. The Holly Cousins
Christian sends Hardcore into the steel steps on the outside with a drop toe hold. Meanwhile Edge gets the better of Crash and E&C isolate him in their corner - particularly working over his midsection. E&C go for a Poetry in Motion type move but Crash dodges and gets the hot tag to Hardcore. Hardcore takes out Edge and Christian and hits a sweet bridging German suplex on Christian for a near fall. Edge comes back in and hits an Edge-o-matic from behind. Crash deals with Edge and then Hardcore and Crash hit a nice Electric Chair/Missile Dropkick combination on Christian. Edge prevents the cover and sends Crash into the ringpost and hits a DDT on Hardcore. Edge and Christian go for chairs but Hardcore and Crash hit double baseball slides sending the chairs into Edge and Christian as they try and enter the ring. The Holly Cousins then set up for a Con-chair-to on Christian but Edge takes out Crash, and Christian ducks behind Hardcore and schoolboys him for a near fall. E&C then set up for the Con-chair-to on Hardcore, but Crash comes charging in the ring, just to eat a chair to the face by Edge! Hardcore sends Christian's chair into his face, but turns right around to a Spear!

Spoiler

Women's Championship Match:
Lita (c) vs. Chyna
- Lita comes out to a massive ovation. Chyna comes out with a peacock headdress to a lesser reception.
- They start by locking up a few times - Chyna initially overpowers Lita but Lita then makes some clever escapes and catches Chyna in a roll-up.
- Chyna starts taking things more seriously and lands a forearm and some stiff kicks to Lita.
- Lita hits a jumping DDT and lays in some shots which Chyna sells poorly. -
- Lita starts wrenching the arm but Chyna shoves her off - Lita goes after it again showing her determination.
- Chyna comes back with a powerslam and then hits a Gorilla Press Slam. -
Chyna covers Lita but lifts her from the mat at two.
- As Chyna goes to lift Lita, Lita flips into a cross-armbreaker in a nice transition. Chyna eventually manages to get out by applies a headscissors to Lita. At this point, Eddie Guerrero shows up at the top of the ramp to watch the match.
- Chyna tosses Lita across the ring and then goes for a powerbomb but Lita counters into a hurricanrana and gets a near fall. Lita looks to follow up with a Twist of Fate but Chyna escapes and hits a powerbomb for the win as Eddie looks on.
- Chyna raises the Women's title as Eddie starts to sarcastically clap for her.

Spoiler

Jim Ross: Okay it is now time for us to get truly extreme...wait...WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!? RVD and Rhyno are beating down Gangrel on top of the stage!

Hardcore Championship Match:
Gangrel (c) vs. Rhyno vs. RVD
- RVD and Gangrel start the match, after Gangrel throws Rhyno off of the stage.
- Rhyno rushes down and grabs the steel steps which he puts into the ring.
- Rhyno and RVD try and double team Gangrel but he manages to use the steel steps to his advantage and take them out.
- They head outside and Gangrel sends RVD and Rhyno over the barricade with Kendo Stick shots as they head backstage.
- Backstage RVD chokes Gangrel with a rope and then Rhyno slams a trolley into him. RVD goes for the cover but Rhyno breaks it up.
- They continue to brawl backstage with Gangrel beating around the other two. Rhyno and RVD team up and send Gangrel slowly falling back onto some pallets (really wasn't as dramatic as I think they wanted it to be).
- RVD and Rhyno brawl back to the ring leaving Gangrel backstage. Rhyno throws RVD into the ring post and then puts a trash can and some trash can lids into the ring. Rhyno looks to hit RVD but he smash the trash can lid into his face - the fans start chanting for Gangrel.
- Rhyno hits a DDT on the trash can lid for a near fall before Gangrel returns to the ring.
- Gangrel hits a DDT on Rhyno but is then knocked down by a side kick from RVD who gets a near fall on Gangrel.
- RVD gets out the fire extinguisher and hits Rhyno with it. Gangrel goes for a DDT, but RVD sprays the extinguisher in his eyes before hitting him in the head with the canister for the near fall.
- RVD sets up the steel steps, put into the ring by Rhyno at the start of the match, but Rhyno hits him in the head with a trash can. Rhyno then waits until Gangrel gets up, throws the trash can at him which he catches and then runs up the steps to hit a Gore for the three count.

Spoiler

European Championship Match - Submission:
Chris Benoit (c) vs. Chris Jericho
- Benoit almost immediately tries to lock in the Crossface but Jericho gets to the ropes and rolls outside. Benoit throws him into the steps and the post and delivers a few chops too. Y2J however comes back crotching Benoit into the ringpost and the beating him down on the outside.
- Jericho brings it into the ring and goes for a Lion Tamer but Benoit quickly gets to the ropes. They then do a nice counter segment of the Walls of Jericho with Benoit managing to get in position for the Crossface but Jericho gets to the bottom rope.
- Jericho takes back control and delivers some nice snap suplexes to Benoit.
Benoit and Jericho trade various submission attempts but with each being quick to get the ropes.
- Benoit puts Jericho in the Walls of Jericho, but sadly can't keep it on Jericho.
- Benoit brings Chris back in the ring and puts him in the Figure Four Leglock (Woo!). Jericho manages to roll over to the ropes.
- Benoit continues to work over the leg and goes for an Anklelock but Y2J is too close to the ropes. Jericho throws Benoit outside and regains the advantage, Benoit hits a DDT back in the ring but Jericho comes back with a bulldog, followed by his Lionsault. Jericho then puts Benoit in the Lion Tamer and Benoit after a few moments taps out.

Spoiler

*Analysis: Thanks to Jericho thumping his knee down during his last Lion Tamer, something in Chris Benoit's neck snapped...causing a broken neck.*

WWF Championship Match - No Holds Barred:
Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs. The Undertaker
- Vince McMahon comes out to join JR and Paul Heyman on commentary...no sign what happened to The King.
- Taker attacks Austin on the rampway and throws him around the entranceway and then ringside. Taker hits Old School on the outside walking along the announce table and then the barricade.
- They continue to brawl outside until Taker finally sends Austin into the ring and then grabs a chair. Austin attacks Taker on his way into the ring and manages to briefly take the upperhand before Taker makes a comeback with a flurry of offence culminating in a flying clothesline which gets a near fall.
- Taker throws Austin to the outside once more but Austin takes control as Taker goes after Vince. Austin slams Taker's head into the announce table and the repeatedly drives Taker's knee into the ringpost. Austin then continues to work over Taker's leg.
- We get a long boring resthold as Austin's drops and elbow to Taker's knee and applies a leg lock. Taker tries to fight out but Austin stands up delivers two low blows and then reapplies the leg lock.
- Taker makes a comeback and then chokeslams Austin through the announce table.
- Taker drags Austin back into the ring for a near fall. Taker lands a leg drop for another near fall before Austin rolls outside. Taker comes after Austin but Austin hits him with a monitor from the announce table which busts open Taker. Meanwhile, Austin gets back in the ring and exposes one of the turnbuckles while also taking some time to flip off the crowd.
- Austin beats down on Taker, laying in shots to Taker's head.
- Austin hits a chair shot to Taker's head and then demands that Taker get up. Taker gives Austin the finger and then gets up only to be hit with a Stunner. Austin goes for the cover but only gets a near fall.
- Austin gets the chair and hits Taker twice in the back. He then stands over Taker and looks to deliver more shots but Taker hits a low blow. Taker lands a Chokeslam on Austin and then hits Austin with multiple chairshots as he writhes on the floor. Triple H then hobbles down with a sledgehammer but Taker hits him in the head with the chair. Austin tries to use the distraction but gets another chairshot to the head and Taker goes for the cover but Vince breaks it up. Taker backs Vince into the corner and then dodges an attempted chair shot from Austin causing Austin to take out Vince.
- Taker goes for a Last Ride on Austin but Triple H hits him in the head with the sledgehammer. Kane's pyro hits and he comes running to ringside but Austin covers Taker and wins the match before Kane can get there.

Re: Last Ride - WWE 2K17 Universe Mode

List of WWF Champions at the time:
● WWF World Heavyweight Champion: Stone Cold Steve Austin (4/01/2001)
● WWF Intercontinental Champion: Kurt Angle (5/20/2001)
● WWF World Tag Team Champions: Edge & Christian (4/29/2001)
● WWF European Champion: Chris Jericho (5/20/2001)
● WWF Hardcore Champion: Rhyno (5/20/2001)

~ Raw comes on the air and we skip the intro and pyro and go right to the arena with Steve Austin making his way to the ring, still the WWF Champion after surviving The Undertaker’s brutal battle at Judgment Day. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman quickly welcome us to the show and agree Austin is a very lucky man to escape with the title last night. Austin does his posing and gets in a fan’s face before getting on the mic and bragging that he’s still WWF Champion, even demanding the fans look at his belt which he feels shows that no one in the WWF can stop him. Austin calls himself a fighting champion and talks on beating Undertaker, who will not get any more rematches. Austin then reminds us of his name and what title he holds before demanding all the fans show him the proper respect. Austin repeats that no one can stop him … then Jeff Hardy's music fires up and Jeff Hardy comes out to the stage, Austin a little surprised he would dare interupt him. Hardy gets on the mic and asks Austin to please shut up then brings up the the two months of theories and speculation of why Austin sold his soul to Vince McMahon before saying he himself could care less why he did what he did. Jeff feels Austin is an angry vengeful ja****s who became an even bigger s(*bleep*) than Stephanie McMahon before proclaiming that he and Matt Hardy are going to beat the Two-Man Power Trip tonight to make them losers, and get title shots at Stone Cold's WWF title which will make neither man the same again. Hardy rushes the ring and Austin pounces on him but Jeff gets the advantage and wails on him in a corner to the fan's huge ovation. However Triple H runs in to make it 2-on-1 against Jeff when Matt Hardy also runs in the ring to turn the tide. Austin and Triple H bail out to the floor and the referees try to hold them back as The Hardy Boyz stand tall as we have our main event booked for tonight.

~ Back from break Austin and Triple H are complaing to Vince McMahon, Austin saying he doesn’t deserve Jeff Hardy of all people jumping his interview time while Triple H gripes about Matt attacking him when they do what they want. Vince asks them to calm down and forget about last night so they can concentrate about the main event tonight.

~ Elsewhere Kurt Angle arrives at the building and proudly displays his new gold to a bunch of backstage workers.

WWF HARDCORE TITLE MATCH:
Rhyno © vs. Gangrel
In a rematch for Gangrel's Hardcore title it is now officially no longer 24/7 rules for the Hardcore title. Gangrel is out first followed by Rhyno who first decides to throw some plunder in the ring. Gangrel soon gets tired of waiting for Rhyno so he heads out and pounds on him. Rhyno quickly fights back and goes for a whip but Gangrel counters with a short-arm clothesline then clubs him and suplexes him on the ramp. Gangrel throws Rhyno into the barricade repeatedly then hits a massive chop. Gangrel yells at Rhyno then charges at him but Rhyno sidesteps and Gangrel runs his shoulder into the ringpost. Rhyno grabs a handicap sign and whacks Gangrel in his hurt arm then kicks at it and rams it into the barricade. Rhyno goes over to throw more weapons in the ring when Gangrel clubs him in the back but uses his bad arm. Gangrel rolls Rhyno in the ring but Rhyno attacks him as he comes in and works over his arm with a handicap sign. Rhyno cracks Gangrel in the head with the sign then continues attacking the bad arm and wraps it around the ropes. Gangrel comes back with headbutt then grabs Rhyno with his bad arm for a DDT but Rhyno fights out of it. Rhyno waffles Gangrel repeatedly with a trash lid and goes for the Gore...

Spoiler

~ Back from break we get a reminder of The Rock, The Hardys and Lita being featured in Rolling Stone magazine.

~ Backstage Kurt Angle talks to some backstage guy about his Intercontinental Champtionship celebration later tonight, feeling the fans in this “second-class” city will finally have something they can talk about for generations to come. Angle also says that just talking about his big moment is giving him goosebumps as he departs.

~ Elsewhere backstage we find the Acolytes in their office engaged in a card game when Terri Runnels comes in asking why they aren’t warming up for thier match with the Radicalz. Bradshaw says they don’t like it warm and Terri agrees it is hot in here so she pour beer all over herself which gets Bradshaw and Faarooq excited. Not surprisinly it’s a setup as Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn suddenly jump the Acolytes and leave them laying.

~ Still elsewhere we see Steve Austin heading into his lockerroom only to discover that Debra isn’t there. Could we have a mystery on our hands?

~ Yet again elsewhere we find Spike Dudley and Molly Holly sitting on an anvil case together and talking, with Molly apologizing for her cousins getting involved last Monday to cause the Dudley Boyz to not the title match yesterday. Molly also mentions Crash and Hardcore are facing Bubba and D’Von tonight and claims she had nothing to do with it but Spike tells Molly not to feel bad since the Hollys and Dudleys are both fighters and they can’t stop them from fighting. Spike then tells Molly he has a good luck present for her as he gives her a pair of taped-up Dudley frames. Molly smiles and thanks Spike as he tells her to wear them with pride and heads out as we go to commercial.

TAG TEAM MATCH:
The Acolytes vs. Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn (w/Terri Runnels)
The Acolytes meet the Radicalz on the floor and get in their shots before Faarooq throws Malenko in the ring. Faarooq whips Malenko into a corner and Malenko lifts himself with the ropes over him. Malenko gets a waistlock but Faarooq fights out and Bradshaw helps him with a double powerbomb then covers but Saturn makes the save. Bradshaw clotheslines Saturn over the ropes then helps Faarooq whip Malenko and hit a double sboulderblock. Bradshaw takes over on Malenko without a tag and hits him with a delayed vertical suplex that gets a two count. Bradshaw works Malenko over in a corner then whips him into the other corner and charges but eats a boot. Malernko hops to the middle rope and leaps off when Bradshaw catches him looking for the fallaway slam but Saturn interupts Bradshaw with a superkick, causing Malenko to fall top of him for a near fall. Saturn tags in and draws Faarooq in to distract the referee while he and Malenko double-team Bradshaw. Saturn whips Bradshaw into a corner and goes for a crossbody but Bradshaw catches him. Malenko comes in and Bradshaw nails him with a big boot but then trips over him dropping Saturn to the mat. Bradshaw manages to tag in Faarooq to take over and Faarooq slams Saturn and gets a two count. Faarooq goes for the Dominator but Saturn slips out of it and shoves Faarooq into a right hand from Malenko. Saturn follows up with a belly-to-belly suplex then draws Bradshaw in to distract the refere for more double-teaming. Malenko chokes Faarooq then lets Saturn choke him from the floor before hitting a kneelift. Malenko goes for a whip, Faarooq reverses him into a corner and charges but eats an elbow. Malenko comes out but runs into a powerslam and Faarooq is able to crawl over and make the tag to Bradshaw. Saturn also gets the tag but Bradshaw cuts him down with a shoulderblock then whips him and hits an elbow. Bradshaw whips Saturn into a corner and clotheslines him then hits a suplex and decks Malenko off the apron. Terri hops on the apron and opens her robe (if you’re wondering Terri’s back was to the camera so we didn’t see anything) but Bradshaw just ignores her as he whips Saturn and hits a boot. Bradshaw covers Saturn but Malenko makes back it in to save it so Bradshaw knocks him through the ropes. Saturn knocks Bradshaw out through the ropes but Faarooq cones back and plants Saturn with a spinebuster. Bradshaw makes back in the ring then helps Faarooq plant Saturn with a double powerbomb right on his head. The Acolytes nail Saturn with a second double powerbomb and Saturn is out as Bradshaw grabs the pin.

Spoiler

~ Backstage William Regal is talking with some guy when Steve Austin walks up asking him if he’s seen his wife. Regal hesitates then mentions the Undertaker is in the building and hopes that Taker hasn’t abducted Debra. Austin changes expressions as if he hadn’t thought of this until now and takes off to continue his search.

~ Back from break Kurt Angle talks with Edge & Christian about how his Olympic celebration will reek of awesomness then suggests it could be even more special if Christian stands on the silver platform and Edge on the bronze. E&C turn him down and Angle figures his pals are letting the spotlight be on just him if he’s standing up there alone. Angle thanks them for the idea and heads off with E&C agreeing that Angle is a very “special” guy.

WWF EUROPEAN TITLE MATCH:
Chris Jericho © vs. X-Pac (w/ Albert & Justin Credible)
X-Pac is wanting Jericho's gold, and this prompted a match between the two men here tonight. Both men lockup to start and X-Pac gets an armdrag then kips up and poses before lockup up with Y2J again. X-Pac goes into a headlock and Jericho shoves him away but X-Pac hits a shoulderblock then comes off the ropes. Jericho trips him with a drop toehold and hits an Atomic Drop then connects with a clothesline for a two count. Jericho gets his own headlock and X-Pac shoves him away but Jericho hits a shoulderblock then comes off the ropes. X-Pac leapfrogs over Chris and blocks a hiptoss then goes through his moves but Jericho clotheslines him down. Jericho applies an armwringer then goes for a whip but X-Pac reverses it and Credible trips Y2J from the floor. X-Pac hits a spinkick then tosses Jericho through the ropes and Credible helps him crotch Jericho on the ringpost. Albert then press slams Y2J over the ropes back in the ring and X-Pac covers him but only gets a two count. X-Pac applies a chinlock and Jericho fights out then whips him but X-Pac comes back with a flipping clothesline. X-Pac kicks Jericho down in a corner and chokes him with his boot then follows it up with the Bronco Buster. X-Pac poses on the turnbuckles then goes for a footdrop but Jericho catches it and spins him into a discus punch. X-Pac whips Jericho then sets him up for the X-Factor but Jericho takes him down and catapults him into a corner. Jericho rams X-Pac’s head into the buckles and slams him then hops to the middle rope and hits the guilltoine. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho when X-Pac counters with a cradle with his left foot on the ropes but get two. Jericho comes off the ropes but X-Pac tosses him out through the other side and Credible stomps away on him. X-Pac rolls Jericho back in the ring when Eddie Guerrero runs out and blindsides X-Pac then tosses him in as well. X-Pac yells at Eddie then turns back but Jericho catches him with the Walls of Jericho to retain.

Spoiler

~ Kurt Angle is then shown heading to the ring for his big IC ceremony which we can assume is next as we go to commercial.

Back from break Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring where flags and a medals platform have been set up for him. Angle gets on the mic and talks about this being his night then promises to be brief since time is precious in the WWF. Angle pulls out a scroll and reads about a hero being superior to the common man that’s worshiped and looked up to, and the fans may not have many heroes in their lives so he’s presenting himself as a genuine true-to-life hero. Angle says winning gold medals is one thing but winning the Intercontinental Gold in a grueling match is epic so he’s going to commemorate his grand achievement by recreating his Olympic winning victory ceremony, for his new gold. Angle then takes his place on the top platform as the Olympic theme plays and confetti starts falling from the ceiling. Angle fights back the tears as the song concludes … just before Shane McMahon comes out to the ring? Huh? Angle is not happy with this intrusion as Shane gets on the mic saying he was in the building and wanted to stop by. Shane promises to get to the point and mentions Angle’s three I’s then says he has his own three letters: WCW. Shane says he wanted to address the rumors and says WCW will be starting up soon, sooner than anyone thinks. Angle yells at Shane for interrupting his big ceremony but Shane decides to tell everyone what WCW stands for. Shane says the first ‘W’ stand for World, then talks about the different worlds and how they have many moons. Shane says the ‘C’ stands for Championship which Angle doesn’t deserve to have and can also stand for coyote and cookie. Angle continues to complain about this lack of respect, wanting to know what Shane is talking about, but Shane is determined to help him understand what WCW is. Shane climbs onto the platform while saying the other ‘W’ stands for Wrestling but can also stand for ‘wussy’. Angle finally has enough of this and throws Shane off the top platform into a sea of confetti with the Olympic Slam! Angle then slaps the Anklelock on Shane and Shane taps the mat before Angle releases it and leaves him laying.

~ Backstage Steve Austin heads back into his lockerroom only to find Debra there just fine and drinking coffee so he frantically asks where she was. Debra says she had to go to the other side of the building to get coffee as Austin tells Debra about his meeting with Regal and claims he was worried that the Undertaker might have gotten her. Almost on cue Taker barges in the room and gets in Debra’s face asking if she’s scared and reducing her to tears. Taker then turns and stands nose-to-nose with Austin while telling him their issue isn’t over until he says it’s over. Taker tells Austin this isn’t about the WWF Title anymore after he made this personal by bringing his family into this after all his warnings. Taker says Austin knows he beat him down last night then warns Austin to again leave his family out of this or he might show him just what it’s like to step on someone’s family. Taker asks Austin if he has a problem then heads out while Austin tells Debra that’s why he’s concerned about her. Austin then claims he would have whipped Taker had Debra not been there and didn’t want to put her in jeopardy.

~ Back from break we find a pair of security guys escorting Shane McMahon out of the building despite his protests.

TAG TEAM MATCH:
The Dudley Boyz (w/Spike Dudley) vs. Crash & Hardcore Holly (w/Molly Holly)
The Dudleys attack the Hollys as they come in and Bubba pairs off with Crash while D’Von beats on Hardcore. Hardcore starts fighting back against D’Von so Bubba comes to his aid and tosses Hardcore through the ropes. The Dudleys whip Crash and Bubba hits a tilt-o-whirl slam while D’Von follows up with a legdrop. Bubba chops Crash in a corner then tags D’Von to take over but Crash comes back with a front facelock. Hardcore tags in and gets in his shots then goes for a whip but D’Von reverses it and hits the jumping elbow. D’Von then looks over to see Spike and Molly exchanging frames on the floor and asks him what he’s doing, allowing Hardcore to drape him on the top rope and kick him in the chest. Hardcore grabs the legs and stomps D’Von in the chest then slams him and tags Crash in to get in his shots. Crash whips D’Von and hits a clothesline that gets a near fall then covers him again and gets the same result. D’Von fights back but Crash rakes the face then tags in Hardcore and Hardcore helps out with a double-team. Hardcore whips D’Von and connects with the dropkick then poses before covering him and Bubba breaks it up. Hardcore hits a snap suplex for a near fall and D’Von again fights back but Hardcore stops it with some chops. Hardcore chokes D’Von on the middle rope then tags in Crash and Crash whips D’Von and hits a DDT for two. D’Von comes back with a Curtain Call then Crash tags Hardcore while D’Von makes the hot tag to Bubba. Bubba clotheslines Hardcore and slings Crash back in the ring then whips Hardcore and hits a backdrop. Bubba whips Crash when Crash kicks the face then climbs onto Bubba’s shoulders but Bubba is back to his feet as D’Von climbs to the top rope and nails Crash with the Dudleyville Device. Bubba slams Hardcore and sets him up while D’Von climbs to the top again and connects with the “Wassup” headbutt. Bubba sends D’Von out for a table and D’Von has one in hand when Molly begs him not to slide it in the ring. Spike gets Molly out of harm’s way and argues with D’Von when Crash dropkicks the table into both of them. Hardcore DDTs Bubba and Crash grabs the ringbell but Molly takes it from him while telling him not to use it. However Hardcore snatches the bell from Molly and cracks Bubba in the head with it and that gets the pin.

~ Backstage Vince McMahon apologizes on behalf of his family to Kurt Angle for Shane ruining his ceremony an assures him he’s had Shane thrown out. Angle asks Vince if he’s mad with him putting Shane in the Anklelock but Vince is mad because Angle didn’t break Shane’s ankle and demands to hear the ankle pop at the next opportunity. Vince mentions Angle getting his gold back, but he does have a suitor for his title...Kane...Angle cautiously accepts Kane's challenge, telling Vince he wants to be his right hand man.

~ Back from break the Dudleys are trying to recover from the match with D’Von screaming about Molly Holly. Spike tries to explain that Molly didn’t mean to cost them the match but D’Von says he saw it with his own eyes. D’Von tells Spike he and Bubba have been here longer and know who to trust and that the Hollys cannot be trusted. Spike continues to insist it was an accident when Bubba steps in and tells Spike he knows what has to happen now. Spike realzies it and asks Bubba to recosider but Bubba stands pat and says Molly is going through a table.

~ Elsewhere The Hardy Boyz are preparing for their tag team match, when Eddie Guerrero comes in and asks about the their scheduled match against Edge and Christian. Eddie tells Matt he did a good job in talking up to get this match, so good that he should stay in the back while he and a partner of his choice take on Edge & Christian. Jeff asks if Matt is cool with that but Eddie takes offense and asks what else he has to do to prove himself to them. Matt calms Eddie down saying it’s cool and Eddie promises to always be there for them.

~ Still elsewhere we find The Hardy Boyz talking stratgey for their match later.

~ Again elsewhere Steve Austin and Triple H are having their own strategy session about the main event. Triple H points out how everyone says ‘team’ to them then talks about the little mishap they had last night, that Austin still has both his belt while he lost the Intercontinental Title because of Austin’s mistake. Triple H also points out he’s the reason Austin still has the WWF Championship since he doesn’t make mistakes. Austin reminds Triple H his name and feels he doesn’t deserve to be talked to like that before an important match. Triple H responds by telling Austin to prove it and heads out as we go to commercial.

TAG TEAM MATCH:
Eddie Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero (w/Vikki Guerrero) vs. Edge & Christian
In stunning news, Chavo Guerrero, Eddie's nephew is making his WWF debut, as Eddie's wife, Vikki, is also here. Eddie and Edge start off for their teams and Eddie gets in the first shots then whips Edge and hits a heelkick. Eddie goes out to the apron and slings himself into a hilo on Edge before tagging Chavo in to take over on him. Chavo goes for a whip, Edge reverses but Chavo comes back with a dropkick that knocks Edge through the ropes. Chavo slings himself over the ropes as Edge slides back in the ring but Chavo lands on the apron and decks Edge. Christian goes over and pulls Chavo off the apron and throws him into the barricade then tosses him back in. Edge hits a backbreaker for a two count then tags Christian in and Christian whips Chavo into a powerslam. Chavo crawls toward his corner for a tag but Chrstian pulls him away and hammers him in his corner with forearms. Eddie tries to come in but the referee gets him back out, allowing Edge to get in his own shots from the apron. Edge tags in and applies a chinlock over his knee and Chavo fights out of it but Edge regains the advantage. Edge scoops Chavo up when Chavo floats over him and hits a jawbreaker then goes and makes the tag to Eddie. Christian also gets the tag but Eddie greets him with several right hands then turns his attention to Edge. Eddie goes for a whip, Edge reverses when Eddie comes back with a headscissors but Christian pounds on him. Chavo nails Christian from behind and helps Eddie with a double-team then both men whip him into a corner. Eddie clotheslines Christian then drops to the mat and convinces Chavo to hit a variation of Poetry in Motion. Eddie slaps hands with Chavo then shoves him out of the way as Edge comes in and nails him with a spear. Chavo wails away on Edge and the referee tries to get him to the corner as Christian sets Eddie on the top rope. Edge sets Christian on his shoudlers as they go for the stack superplex but Vikki trips Edge from the floor and pulls him into the ringpost. Eddie then hits Christian with a super Sunset Flip off the top rope and gets the pin.

Spoiler

~ Kane is shown backstage preparing for his Intercontinental Title match as we go to commercial.

WWF INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH:
Kurt Angle © vs. Kane
So here’s Angle’s “reward” for taking Shane McMahon out earlier. Kane gets in the first shots and whips Angle into a corner then hits a clothesline followed by a powerslam. Kane readies to deliver the chokeslam already but Angle avoids it then wrenches Kane’s still-injured arm. Angle applies a armbar on the bad arm then turns it into a cross-armbreaker and Kane tries to gut out the pain. Kane manages to escape the hold but Angle trips him with a drop toehold and slaps on a Fujiwara armbar. Angle drives his knee into the bad arm then drags Kane over and wraps the arm around the ringpost repeatedly. Angle then grabs both arms but Kane pulls him shoulder-first into the ringpost and Angle is down on the floor. Kane goes out and drops Angle with a right then rams him into the steps before throwing him back in the ring. Angle stomps Kane’s bad arm as he climbs in and slaps on a keylock and Kane tries to fight out of the hold. Angle forces Kane back to the mat but Kane gets to his feet and tosses Angle off with a Fireman’s carry. Kane clotheslines Angle then whips him and plants him with a sidewalk slam before climbing to the top rope. Kane hits the flying clothesline then grabs Angle for the chokeslam but Angle kicks the bad arm to escape it. Angle runs into a big boot and Kane clotheslines him over the ropes then the referee keeps Kane in the ring. Shane McMahon suddenly runs out and clotheslines Angle from behind then unloads off on him with right hands. Now how did Shane get back in the building after he was escorted out by security earlier? Anyway Shane tosses Angle back in the ring and Kane finishes him with the chokeslam.

Spoiler

~ The Rock comes on via Satellite to tell everyone Kane re-injured his groin last night, but the Great One will be back soon to entertain the MILLIONS and million of The Rock's fans...and to claim his Number One Contender trophy, the WWF Title.

TAG TEAM MATCH:
Steve Austin & Triple H (w/Stephanie) vs. The Hardy Boyz
So here we are, Jeff and Matt’s biggest match to date. Though it’s weird to see Austin enter first, then Triple H, then the challengers. Austin starts off against Jeff and gets in the first shots then whips him but Jeff comes back with a flying forearm then rolls Austin up for a quick one count. Jeff goes for a whip when Austin tosses him over the ropes but Jeff lands on his feet on the apron. Austin has words for Matt when Jeff climbs to the top rope and connects with a flying elbow to the head. Jeff applies an armwringer but Austin jabs the eyes then knocks him down with a knee to the chest. Triple H gets the tag but Jeff chops him down and Matt gets in a shot before Jeff hits another chop. Matt tags in for a quick double-team then gets in his own chop but Triple H jabs the eyes to take control. Austin tags in and works Matt over in a corner with chops but Matt reverses position and hits his own chops. Austin then slaps on a headlock and Matt shoves him away but Austin comes back with a shoulderblock. Austin comes off the ropes but Matt connects with a knee to the chest then follows it up with a snap suplex. Matt sets Austin on the top rope and gets in some more shots before going up and hitting a superplex. Matt covers Austin but Triple H breaks it up prompting Jeff to come in and get his shots on Triple H. Earl Hebner gets Jeff back to the corner while Austin and Triple H double-team Matt in their corner. Matt fights out of the corner and knocks Triple H through the ropes then slaps the cross-arm bar on Austin! Austin tries to hold on as Triple H climbs on the apron but Jeff cuts him off with the springboard dropkick. Hebner gets Jeff back to his corner while Triple H brings in a chair and clocks Matt to make the save. Triple H knocks Jeff off the apron then rolls Austin on top of Matt for the cover … but only gets two!

Austin is shocked Matt survived the chairshot and unloads on him with rights then grinds his face into the mat. Austin comes off the ropes with an elbowdrop to the back of neck then chokes Matt while holding the ropes. Austin then distracts Hebner while Triple H pulls Matt out to the floor and whips him into the ringsteps. Triple H tosses Matt back in the ring and Austin covers for a near fall. Triple H tags in to take over and works Matt over in a corner but Matt manages to fight out of there. Matt whips Triple H and lowers the head when Triple H hits the facebuster but he only gets a near fall as well. Austin tags back in and stomps Matt in the chest then chokes him on the middle rope and hits the straddle. Austin stomps Matt repeatedly then draws Jeff in to distract Hebner while Triple H comes in without a tag. Triple H shoulderblocks Matt in a corner then applies an Abdominal strech and grabs Austin’s arm for leverage. Eventually Hebner sees it and kicks Austin’s arm to force a break allowing Matt to escape with a hiptoss. Matt comes off the ropes with a shoulderblock then comes off again but Triple H slaps on a sleeperhold. Matt tries to hold on and starts to fade but manages to keep the arm up and counters into a back body drop. Matt starts crawling to his corner for a tag and Triple H pulls him away but Matt nails him with an enzugiri. Matt then tags in Jeff but Austin distracts Hebner from seeing it and Hebner refuses to allow Jeff in. Triple H throws Matt through the ropes and Austin rams him into the announce table then wails away on him. Austin throws Matt back in the ring as Jeff tries to get a piece of him and Triple H hits the Pedigree. Triple H covers Matt but Hebner is too busy breaking up the fight between Austin and Jeff on the floor. Jeff throws Austin into the steps then climbs to the top rope and hits Triple H with a missle dropkick. Both Triple H and Matt are down as Jeff heads back to the corner for a tag while Austin does the same. Triple H and Matt crawl to the corners and Triple H tags Austin while Matt makes the hot tag to Jeff. Jeff hits a clothesline and goes for a whip, Austin reverses but Jeff hits another flying forearm. Jeff catches Triple H with an elbow and clotheslines him over the ropes but Austin nails him from behind. Austin whips Jeff for the Lou Thesz Press but Jeff catches him and hits his groin leg-drop, and now into a Boston crab. Austin looks ready to tap but Triple H makes it back in to break it up and send Jeff rolling to the floor. Triple H looks to be in massive pain.

Triple H goes after Jeff on the floor and he’s noticeably limping on his left leg as he clears off the table then rolls Jeff onto it. Triple H and looks to finish Jeff with the Pedigree through the table but instead Jeff counters then puts Triple H through the table with a Twist of Fate! Back in the ring Austin is down as Matt climbs to the top rope and connects with the Leg Drop. Matt sees Hebner is still on the floor demands he come back in before Austitn hits Matt with the Stunner! Austin covers Matt as Hebner goes in to count 1..2..but Jeff pulls Hebner back out to make the save! Jeff whips Austin and hits the side-affect, he is now up top for the Swanton, but Austin gets the knees up to block it. Austin goes for the Stunner but Jeff shoves him away and hits an elbow then this time hits the Twist of Fate. Jeff covers Austin but Hebner is down while Triple H hobbles back in the ring with the sledgehammer. Triple H plunges the hammer to make the save but Jeff dodges it and Austin takes the hammer in the chest! Matt Hardy with a low-blow on Triple H! Jeff with the cover on Stone Cold, the ref is up! 1-2-3!

● WWF World Heavyweight Champion: Stone Cold Steve Austin (4/01/2001)
● WWF Intercontinental Champion: Kane (5/21/2001)
● WWF World Tag Team Champions: Edge & Christian (4/29/2001)
● WWF European Champion: Chris Jericho (5/20/2001)
● WWF Hardcore Champion: Rhyno (5/20/2001)

~ Jim Ross welcomes us to the show along with Paul Heyman and runs down some of tonight’s action, including The Dudley Boyz squaring off against the Holly cousins in a tag team tables match. JR also mentions that earlier he received a letter via courier saying we will meet the Undertaker’s wife tonight, which he finds strange since Taker isn’t scheduled to be on the show tonight. Maybe we’ll find out what that’s about on the show.

~ Things get started with Vince McMahon heading to the ring to a chorus of boos to make sure he always gets in the first work. Vince gets on the mic and says how nice it is to be in Calgary and that the fans have made him feel at home so he encourages other Americans to cross the border to enjoy the hospitality. Vince mentions how Canada has that two divergent groups, the English and French, living in harmony and that everyone gets along just fine despite the excess taxation and devalued dollar. Vince also calls the Canadians proud for bringing ice hockey, strong beer and the word ‘eh’ to America and encourages Americans to visit Canada as long as they never live there. Eventually Chris Jericho appears on the stage to a huge ovation and tries to talk but has problems with his mic. Vince claims the mic doesn’t work because it’s a Canadian microphone as Jericho goes to the back and brings out a second mic to try this again. Jericho tells Vince to stop boring his Jericholoics with his long speech Jericho then gets right to the point, demanding a WWF Championship match with Steve Austin tonight. Vince says no dice so Jericho responds by claiming he’s wearing one of the worst toupees ever and that he created two of the worst sluts ever: Stephanie McMahon and Steve Austin. Jericho then talks about Vince thinking he can sing and says he has something to show everyone before showing the always awesome clip of Vince singing “Stand Back” from the 1987 Slammy Awards! Vince is furious and demandes to know how Jericho got ahold of that footage before telling him he is defending his European Title against The Big Show!

Just then Jeff Hardy joins Jericho on the stage with his own mic, also getting a great reaction from the crowd. Hardy feels he can’t “Stand Back” and let Jericho have all the fun tonight, and since Jericho has to be the one defending his European title tonight, he should get a WWF Title match with Austin. Hardy then calls Vince a great dancer in addition to a great singer before showing more of the Slammy footage. Vince gets even more angry and books Hardy in a match with Rhyno, but decides that whichever of the two men is more impressive in his match will face Austin for the title tonight. Hardy and Jericho get the last word by showing more of the footage and the humiliated Vince storms out the ring to the back as we go to commercial.

~ Back from break we get an exterior shot of the Saddledome as JR hypes either Jeff Hardy or Jericho getting a title shot tonight. After that Howard Finkel introduces Stu Hart and some of the Hart family members sitting at ringside. This was certainly interesting given the past between the Harts and the WWF.

TAG TEAM MATCH:
The Hardy Boyz (w/Eddie Guerrero & Lita) vs. X-Pac & Justin Credible (w/Albert)
You are seeing this correctly, Jeff Hardy could be pulling triple duty tonight. Interestingly enough Eddie is wearing a Hardys t-shirt in support of his new friends. Credible starts off against Jeff and pounds away on him then whips him into a corner but Jeff lifts himself up and over Credible and hits a hiptoss. Jeff hits another hiptoss then applies an armwringer but Credible rakes the face then tags X-Pac who runs into an armdrag. Matt tags in and applies an armwringer then goes for a whip but X-Pac reverses and tosses Matt over the ropes. Credible and X-Pac go out and crotch Matt on the ringpost then Credible rolls Matt back in and takes over with out a tag. X-Pac tags back in and pounds Matt down in a corner then connects with the Bronco Buster. X-Pac hits a snapmare and slaps on a chinlock, Matt fights out of it and whips X-Pac into a corner but eats a boot. However Lita trips X-Pac from the outside and pulls him into the ringpost while Jeff gets the tag and knocks Credible off the apron. Jeff takes X-Pac down by the legs and hits the double legdrop to the chest. Credible comes in but Jeff takes him down and legdrops him as well. The Hardys whip Credible into a corner, Matt drops into position and Jeff hits the Poetry in Motion. The Hardys whip X-Pac into a corner and go for another Poetry in Motion but X-Pac dodges it and Jeff crashes into the turnbuckles. X-Pac drops Matt onto the top rope with a Stun Gun then he and Credible ready for the double superkick but Eddie trips Credible from the floor while Matt blocks X-Pac’s kick and hits the Twist of Fate. Matt covers X-Pac and Credible tries to make the save but misses and nails his own partner. Matt pops Credible out through the ropes while Jeff climbs to the top and connects with the Swanton Bomb on X-Pac for the win!

~ Backstage Trish Stratus is getting ready for a match when Terri comes along and bumps her away from a mirror. Terri then sprays Trish with hair spray before asking if she’s going to the ring dressed the way she is. Trish suggests she might want to worry about what she and Steve Blackman will do to her and Perry Saturn instead and Terri departs while Trish gives her a parting shot as we go to commercial.

~ Back from break Tajiri is in William Regal’s office pouring tea for the Commissioner when Regal has a special job for him, hanging a portrait of the Queen. Tajiri sets out to do that task when Albert barges into the office, startling Tajiri and causing him to drop the portrait. Albert demands a match with Eddie Guerrero on the show and Regal complies but bans the Hardys and X-Factor from ringside. Albert says that’s fine because he’s going to break Eddie in two then leaves while Regal and Tajiri are astonished at the size of his head.

ONE ONE ONE MATCH:
Jeff Hardy vs. Rhyno
Poor Jeff, back-to-back matches to open the show. Jeff gets in some quick shots and goes for a whip but Rhyno reverses and kicks him in the injured ribs. Rhyno press slams Hardy and comes off the ropes but Hardy comes back with a sling blade. Jeff holds on and hits a quick neckbreaker, Rhyno blocks the third maneuver Jeff was going for, and goes for a short-arm clothesline but Jeff ducks it and hits a bridge suplex for a near fall. Hardy goes for a whip, Rhyno counters it but misses another clothesline and Jeff goes for Wisper in the Wind. However Rhyno manages to bail away, causing Jeff to land on the mat. Rhyno returns into the ring, and Jeff takes him down for a cover, only a two, Hardy argues with the referee when Rhyno spears him with the Gore to the ribs! Jeff rolls out to the floor writhing in pain as Rhyno rolls him back in the ring for a two count. Rhyno hammers Jeff in a corner but Hardy starts to fight back then whips Rhyno into a corner and hits Wisper in the Wind. Jeff whips Rhyno into another corner and hits a chop then sets him on the top rope before going up and hitting a hurricaranna. However Jeff hurts himself and can’t make the immediate cover and only gets two as a result. Jeff goes for a whip but Rhyno reverses it and hits a spinebuster. Rhyno goes for the Gore again but Jeff counters right into the Twist of Fate!

Spoiler

~ Back from break the announcers discuss the hilarity between Steve Blackman, Trish Stratus and Grandmaster Sexay on Smackdown. It’s interesting they would show Sexay, since he was caught with drugs at the Canadian border as he was travelling to this show and was promptly fired by the WWF.

INTERGENDER TAG MATCH:
Steve Blackman & Trish Stratus vs. Perry Saturn & Terri Runnels (w/Dean Malenko)
So with his partner quietly turfed, let’s see how Blackman fares. Saturn goes to work on Blackman to start off and goes for a whip, Blackman reverses him into a corner and Blackman goes for a monkey flip but Saturn holds onto the ropes to block it. Saturn misses an elbowdrop and Blackman hits a dropkick then goes for a whip but Saturn reverses it. Blackman rolls under a clothesline and misses a roundhouse kick but hits a reverse footsweep. Blackman grabs the legs but Saturn flips him away and hits an exploder suplex. Saturn hits a clothesline then goes for a whip, Blackman reverses him into his corner and hits a suplex. Trish tags herself in then shoves Saturn into the other corner trying to get Terri to tag in. Trish grabs at Terri despite no tag but Terri snaps Trish’s neck on the top rope then throws her across the ring by the hair then hits a snapmare. Terri then stands on Trish’s hair while pulling on her arms before taunting Blackman with the devil horns, allowing Trish to roll her up for a two count. Trish stomps Terri down in a corner then hits a sloppy running bulldog but Saturn pulls her down by the hair. Saturn tags in but Trish crawls under him to tag Blackman who hits a clothesline then whips Saturn and drops him to the mat. Blackman pops Saturn in the face the goes for another whip, Blackman goes for a hip toss but Saturn counters it into a Northern Lights suplex for a two count. Saturn goes for a whip but Blackman reverses it and hits a bicycle kick. Terri jumps on Blackman’s back but Blackman moves her onto his knee and spanks her. Blackman then goes for a fallaway slam, pitching Terri right into Saturn’s arms. Saturn sets Terri down then ducks a clothesline and both men end up clotheslining each other while Trish spears Terri. The two women roll out to the floor… when in the ring comes WCW’s Lance Storm, who’s actually getting a pretty good pop from his hometown crowd. Storm nails Saturn with a superkick then leaves the ring as Blackman covers Saturn for the pin.

Spoiler

~ Storm makes his way back through the crowd as Trish and Blackman celebrate their win while Malenko and Terri are dumbfounded and Saturn is reeling from another blow to the head. Surprise run-in aside this was a forgettable match. Plus wouldn’t Storm have make a bigger statement if he interrupted a say, more high-profile match, because I’m not sure how many people cared about this bout.

~ Back from commercial we get ‘During the Break’ footage of Lance Storm running through the building and out a door where Shane McMahon is waiting for him outside. The two embrace and celebrate as Shane declares “it’s begun” and “it’s on!” before they make their escape in a limousine.

~ Elsewhere backstage Vince is screaming to his security force about the intrusion and threatens to fire them if anyone else from WCW interferes in any other match tonight.

~ Backstage Spike Dudley and Molly Holly are holding hands and talking about their families feuding, with Spike assuring Molly he’ll never stop fighting for her. The two try to kiss but Kurt Angle walks by and interrupts, saying they’re making a big mistake. Angle gives them an overview of the birds and the bees before saying that the two of them having babies would be embarrassing. Spike starts yelling at Angle and slaps him before spearing him into a cabinet. However Angle beats Spike down, capping off with an Olympic Slam into a wall. As Angle continues his beating, Molly runs off frantically looking for Bubba Ray and D’Von, finding them in their locker room and telling them to come quick. Molly runs off and The Dudleys start to head out … just as Crash and Hardcore Holly walk by their door. The Hollys take advantage of this opportunity and attack the Dudleys from behind, leaving them laying and walking off.

~ Back from break the Dudleys are recovering from their beatdown when Spike comes in wondering what happened. Bubba accuses Molly of setting them up while D’Von wants Spike to see that she doesn’t care about him. Spike tries to explain but the Dudleys won’t hear of it, not after everything they’ve already told him about blood being thicker than water. Bubba decides Molly is going through a table and Spike continues to plead with his half-brothers not to hurt her but they refuse to listen.

WWF EUROPEAN TITLE:
Chris Jericho © vs. The Big Show
Jeff Hardy has won his match earlier, now let’s see if Jericho can match him. Show tries to clothesline Jericho in the aisle to start us off but Jericho ducks it and slides in the ring then hits a dropkick through the ropes. Jericho gets his shots in then pulls a chair out from under the ring and jabs Show in the chest with it. Jericho takes a swing but Show punches the chair into Jericho’s face and throws him into the ringsteps. Show tosses some garbage cans and lids in the ring then Show press slams Jericho onto the barricade before throwing the ringsteps in the ring followed by Jericho. Show goes in and clubs Jericho in the back and wedges a can in a corner between the ropes then grabs a chair but Jericho dropkicks it into Show’s knee. Jericho goes for a bulldog but Show scoops him onto his shoulder and tosses him into the can like a dart. Show decks Jericho and headbutts him in the back of the head and Jericho slumps onto a can. Show goes for a legdrop but Jericho rolls out of the way as Show flattens the can. Jericho whacks Show in the head with a lid, then comes off the ropes but runs into a boot. Jericho quickly connects with the Lionsault and gets the 1….2….3 to retain the title.

~ A classic King of the Ring moment is shown, this one from 1993 of Bret Hart defeating Bam Bam Bigelow to win the inagural pay-per-view tournament and getting attacked by Jerry Lawler during his corination.

Albert wants revenge for Eddie costing his pals their match earlier and saving Jeff Hardy from the post-match Baldobomb. ~The announcers says Lita distracted Albert to lead to the conclusion of the match. In any case Eddie goes out and celebrates with Lita then hugs her but thinks better of it and settles for a high five.

~ Back from break we get clips of Mick Foley’s appearance on the Today show as he celebrates his second #1 bestselling book.

~ JR and Heyman then start talking about the tables match… but are interupted when a videotape cuts in of a woman combing her hair. A distored voice explains this is the Undertaker’s wife Sara in the privacy of her home and that we’ll be seeing a lot more of her before cutting out.

~ Backstage the Hollys discuss the tables match, with Hardcore telling Crash the object is simply put a Dudley through a table. Crash eagerly agrees as Molly asks her cousins to spare Spike but Hardcore says Spike going through a table if he gets involved. Molly continues to plead Spike’s case, feeling they don’t even know him before storming out but Hardcore and Crash then head out as well looking to put someone through a table.

~ Elsewhere Jeff Hardy and Jericho complement each other on their matches tonight when Vince walks by and tells them that they were both impressive tonight. Vince even says Steve Austin wants to face both of them, but he’s not going to let it happen and gives the nod to Hardy for the title shot tonight. Vince then heads out, but not before saying he wants to know where they got that footage. Jericho congratulates Hardy and wishes him luck but also tells him he wants to be his first challenger after he wins the WWF Championship.

~ Back from break Regal is giving Tajiri the business over the picture he dropped earlier when Vince walks in. After Regal introduces Tajiri to him, causing Tajiri to bow in response, Vince tells Regal to send Tajiri out for coffee and Tajiri complies and departs. Once alone Vince tells Regal that Austin has came up with a brilliant idea for the main event but doesn’t want to tell him what it is, just to watch and enjoy.

TAG TEAM MATCH - TABLE MATCH:
The Dudley Boyz (w/Spike) vs. Crash & Hardcore Holly (w/Molly)
All four men go at it to start and the Hollys get the advantage as Hardcore chokes D’Von with his shin while Crash wraks Bubba’s arm around the top rope. Crash goes out and slides a table in the ring ten sets it up. Hardcore tries to powerbomb D’Von through it but Bubba throws Crash out through the ropes then moves the table out of the way. Hardcore clotheslines Bubba as Crash comes back in and helps with a double-team. Bubba fights back but Hardcore rakes the face as Crash sets the table up in a corner. Hardcore works over D’Von as Crash tries to force Bubba onto the table and Bubba fights him off. Hardcore whips Crash into Bubba but Bubba sidesteps and Crash runs into the table. Hardcore works over Bubba but Bubba slams him then sets him up while D’Von climbs to the top rope and hits the “Wassup” headbutt. The Dudleys each go out and bring a table in the ring then grab one table but Hardcore dropkicks it into their faces. Hardcore sets the table up then tries to whip D’Von but D’Von reverses and there’s a 3D through the table for the win.

Spoiler

~ After the match Molly makes the mistake of going in the ring to tend to Hardcore and naturally the Dudleys spot her and get that look. Bubba grabs Molly by the hair and D’Von prepares a table as Spike comes in to try to reason with his half-brothers. However Bubba slaps Spike down and climbs to the second rope ready to superbomb Molly through the table but Spike lays on the table saying they’ll have to put him through as well. So D’Von hands Molly off and Bubba superbombs her through Spike and through the table. The Dudleys look down at what they did with stone-faced looks before walking off.

~ Back from break a number of EMTs are in the ring tending to Spike and Molly who keep asking about the other’s condition.

~ JR and Heyman then talk about Triple H’s injury last week, showing how his quad tore when he broke up Jeff's Boston Crab on Austin. That’s followed by footage of Triple H’s visit to Dr. James Andrews, who says he’ll need surgery to repair it which will put him on crutches for six weeks and will require six months to heal. Triple H also talks on finishing the match, including the Twist of Fate through announce table. We also get footage of the following day as Stephanie looked on during the surgery while Dr. Andrews says the operation went well but Triple H has a lot of work and rehab ahead of him.

~ JR and Heyman wish Triple H well on his recovering and rehab before hyping the main event with Heyman feeling something is going down tonight. I wonder what that could mean?

WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE:
Stone Cold Steve Austin © (w/Vince McMahon) vs. Jeff Hardy
In a nice touch they have Howard Finkle do a big match-style intro for this contest. Ross also points out the extra security at ringside, claiming it’s to prevent another WCW run-in. I wonder if it’s for something else. Anyway both men lockup to start and jockey for position in a corner then Austin breaks cleanly before kicking Hardy repeatedly in the injured ribs. Jeff fights back with chops but Austin kicks him in the chest to regain control then hits a series of shoulderblocks. Austin whips Jeff into the opposite corner but Hardy blocks a clothesline and tries for the Twist of Fate already. However Austin slips out and attacked Hardy in the ribs, capping off with a whip and a knee to the midsection for a two count. Jeff comes back with chops then comes off the ropes but runs into a Lou Thesz Press. Austin hammers away at Jeff but Hardy counters into a rollup, Austin rolls out of it into his own rollup but Jeff counters that and gets the Boston Crab! Austin manages to inch over and grab the bottom rope then rolls out to the floor to regroup. Jeff goes out and rams Austin into the announce table twice then into the ringsteps twice before hitting more chops. Jeff goes for a whip but Austin reverses him into the steps then rams him into the announce table before rolling him back in the ring. Austin whips Hardy but lowers the head and Jeff gets a Sunset Flip, Austin rolls out of it but Jeff takes Austin down by the legs and puts him in the Sharpshooter! The crowd is going nuts as Austin inches toward the ropes but Jeff pulls him back to the center of the ring. Austin again tries for the ropes and this time reaches them as the crowd boos loudly.

Austin rolls out the floor and Jeff goes out after him but Austin kicks him in the chest and rams him into the table again. Austin suplexes Hardy onto the barricade twice then suplexes him onto the announce table. Austin rolls Jeff back in the ring and covers him but only gets two. Austin applies an abdominal stretch and uses the ropes for leverage but referee Earl Hebner sees it and kicks the arm off, allowing Jeff to counter with a hip toss. Hardy then hits a sling blade then holds on and hits a neckbreaker then goes for a third maneuver but Austin fights it. Jeff sets Austin on the top rope and chops him repeatedly then goes up but Austin fights it and throws Jeff down to the mat. Austin sets Jeff on the top rope then goes up and hits his superplex but only gets two! Austin unloads on Hardy and covers for another near fall then tosses him out through the ropes. Austin goes out and grabs his WWF Championship belt then readies a swing when Hebner takes it away. That prompts Vince to argue with Hebner while Austin rolls Jeff back in the ring and hit the Stunner! Austin covers Jeff, but Hebner is still arguing with Vince as he throws the belt in the ring. Austin tries to get the referee’s attention when Jeff clocks him with the belt! Hebner finally gets back in the ring as Jeff covers Austin … but only gets a two count! Austin whips Jeff and goes for the Stunner but Hardy shoves him off and slaps on the Sharpshooter! Hebner is over to see if Ausitn gives it up but Vince pulls him out of the ring so Hebner shoves Vince down then goes back in the ring as Austin manages to grab the ropes again. Jeff lays the boots to Austin and goes for a whip but Austin reverses it and hits a knee to the chest. Austin then locks in his own Sharpshooter on Hardy. Wait! Vince orders the timekeeper to ring the bell and forces Finkel to announce Austin as the winner by submission, even though Jeff didn’t give up!

Spoiler

~ JR is screaming about Hardy getting screwed as Austin lays out Hebner with the Stunner. Vince then gives Austin his WWF title and both men pose on the ramp … when Chris Jericho comes out and jumps both from behind. Jeff and Jericho double-team Austin then roll him in the ring and Jericho puts him in the Walls of Jericho. Vince tries to make the save but Hardy intercepts him with the Sharpshooter. Both guys start tapping out as a swarm of referees try to get Jeff and Jericho off but the men refuse to let go. Jeff and Jericho then stand tall in the ring while both Austin and Vince are laid out, and that at least sends the crowd home happy as Raw fades to black.
