I agree the reality angle puts a damper on things.

Wipeout is pretty bad too in my opinion.

As much as I like John Anderson with ESPN, he's horrible for this show. It could be funny if they didn't make it into this whole competition with the final obstacle course being all serious and timed and stuff. You can't have it both ways, I don't understand how they don't know this. Just make the show ridiculous and funny and you have a winner.

MXC wayyyy better than both.

sure you can .. just watch sasuke ... the first round has all these zany characters (ie .. octopus man) but gets more serious as the rounds progress. i'm not saying wipeout gets it right, i'm just saying you can have it both ways.
