Cleveland Blazers: The NHL's Next Great Dynasty (NHL09 CAP Dynasty)

There was the Leafs, the Canadiens, The Flyers, The Islanders, The Oilers, The Redwings, and now, the Cleveland Blazers. A new "expansion team" breaking into the NHL, replacing EVERY aspect of the Nashville Predators (even there old roster).

Pierre McGuire new Bench Boss

Cleveland, Ohio (AP) - The Cleveland Blazers made a splash today signing former TSN, Sports Illustrated and NBC hockey analyst Pierre McGuire as the new coach of the Cleveland Blazers.

"I'm honored to be coaching a very promising organisation. I hope for very great things from these talented young athletes."

McGuire is not new to coaching in the NHL. He won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins as the Asssistant Coach in 1991 and '92. He also head coached the Hartford Whalers to a 23-37-7 in the 1993-1994 season before being replaced by Paul Holmgren. The New Jersey native played professional hockey in europe for some years. He is well known for his "Between the Glass" reporting during games with NBC and TSN.

"I hope for a better record this time around than the last time I was behind the bench. I think that we will do well with many players who have proven themselves in either the CHL, the US National program or in Europe. "

The rest of the coaching staff is to be announced.

The Leafs, Habs and the Red Wings weren't expansion teams. They were apart of the "Original Six".
