I really hope this is true, as GT5 is really the only driving game I'm interested in.

GT5 is also the only driving game thats worth it all !

Also GT5 will feature NASCAR according to Game Informer. Maybe old news but exciting for me I'm a huge NASCAR fan and finally we might get a simulation of the sport.

On the latest 1UP podcast they say a major Sony game that people might not have been expecting this year, is in fact coming this year. This was followed by not very subtle hints like, engine noises from Garnett and John saying, "What are you driving at?". So yeah, GT5 coming this year, expect it to be announced at GamesCom next week.
