Pitcher dies after being hit by a line drive

The 18-year old pitcher was hit in the side of the head by a line drive back up the middle. Its a terrible thing that I hope can be prevented in the future. My condolences goes out to this 18-year old's family and friends.

I was always sooo afraid of batted balls hitting me. Very sad.

That is a shame 18 dam i have two kids that pitch 12 and 10 .The weird thing is yesterday at my son's 12 year old allstar game he was pitching and a kid hit a shot back to the mound thank God he gloved it, i teach my kids to field there positionbut i know there are going to be times that they may not be able to react at times but at least i hope they can get a glove on it to at least slow it down

That is a shame. At least he died doing something he enjoyed. Still quite a tragedy though.
