Anyone else having problems with option gameplanning not working?
 

I have been playing a guy that has been running a lot of option but no matter if I set option to "aggressive" or "conservative" most of the time the pitch man is left completely alone which allows the QB to pitch the ball for long runs.

Also, I've noticed that if you have QB contain set to "aggressive" and they run an option that the linebackers will pinch in at the snap which allows the QB to get to the corner a lot of times.

Basically, unless someone here can provide some specific tips on getting these gameplans to work I am considering them broke. Any ideas out there? I've been thinking about switching to the 3-3-5 but the idea of only one safety makes me a little worried about deep balls compared to 4-3 or 3-4 where I can have two safeties back.

Ya that gameplan was always a little buggy for me to...

Most of the time all I do is set it to agressive and I take the Rb on by myself. I use the safety by the way so that makes it easy sense a safety is faster and is in better position most of the time..

Are you controlling someone? I always manually take a linebacker and cover the pitchman, forcing the QB to keep it and turn up field into my other defenders. Or if he pitches it it's a loss or a turnover. But the option can be tough to handle at times, just ask Notre Dame lol.

Doesn't work too well because I can't get to the RB in time. I'd have better luck forcing the QB to try and tuck it and manually tackle him but I can't get my players to cover the pitch man at all.

if you are going to spread your LBs do it as soon as you break the huddle to avoid them creeping up to the line and showing blitz getting themselves caught up inside.

I control the safety and guard the pitchman.

I honestly haven't had much of a problem.

I really don't game plan much but when I did, it seemed like it worked.

This is what I do as well.

Often I INT the pitch and run for a TD. I never cover the QB myself.
