Winning face offs NHL 12 PS3
 

Hi all,

I've played NHL 11 alot and had no problems with winning face-offs. Are face-offs the same in NHL 12? It seems a bit different?!?! I lose way more then I used to in NHL 11.

The timing is changed; I have best success by doing my move just as the ref starts to drop the puck.

If your guy doesn't move at all, then you were either too early or too late on your timing.

Faceoffs are a whole new ballgame this year...think rock, paper, scissors. There is a great video on this link that explains it well.

Actually, nothing in the faceoff system changed this year aside from the "deke forward" move becoming less effective.

If you're just playing the CPU, though, you may notice that the default AI faceoff difficulty is much harder than it was in NHL 11. You can change that with sliders if you find yourself losing too many.

I also have a lot better success against the CPU if I win it straight back on the backhand or tie the guy up and kick it backwards to the dman.
