Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Good thread, I like it.
I'll start... I do not think Steven Jackson is a Hall of Famer. He's a good player and has been a top 10 back for most of his career, but never in any year did I consider him to be THE best RB in the league, and really not even top 3. He hasn't had any outstanding statistical year, no type of record breaking year, etc. Furthermore, I think it hurts his case that the Rams have only made the Playoffs I think one time(in '04 I believe) since he's been with him. |

Interested to see how this goes but it definitely won't work if you completely ignore the point. |
Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Next player you do should be Ray Lewis, but the answer is obvious.

I do not consider Steven Jackson a HOF. He just has not been a total standout in his career. He is in the Hall of Very Good with guys like McNabb.

I think he has HOF talent but it takes a lot for a RB's talent to vault a team to the success needed to make them a HOFer without help. So unfortunately, I don't think he belongs. I quoted you bc I don't even think he is as close as McNabb and his 4 NFCC appearances and 1 SB appearance. |
