TGC & TGC2 are algorithm based software products much like no mans sky.

Each course has it's own log of algorithms that are held at a server your game disc or download takes that data & generates it into a playable golf course.
Your disc or download is mostly formed of game modes,player creation & swing mechanics hence the small file size.

Yeah I get that. 7.1 mbs though? That seems crazy small.

I imagine this is the preorder stuff like themes and such and not the actual game file.

The actual game file is much larger than 7 mb.
