    Power Pro Hitting

Anyone else use this? The learning curve for it is pretty rough (probably turning most people off) but once you get it down it becomes VERY satisfuying.

I am only on my third game with it, i haven't even hit a homer yet, but it makes the whole experience feel a bit more authentic to me because you pretty much need to guess the speed of the pitch before it leaves his hand to time the power meter right. So if you're looking for a fastball and they throw a curve your meter (not to mention your swing timing... but thats true in standard also) will be off.

Too early to tell, obviously, but it feels balanced. I recomend people give it a game or two to learn it. The feeling of getting your power meter over 100% and cracking one into the alley is unmatched. Well, hopefully when i finally hit a homer it will be matched

    Re: Power Pro Hitting

Does the meter look like the curving kicking meter on football games (ie NFL 2K3), or is it just a straight vertical meter or something like that (ie Triple Play 2002 but vertical)? How fast does it take to charge up all the way?

        Re: Power Pro Hitting

Yes im using power hitting instead of standard and i have hit a homerun on each game, and sometimes i dont hit one but your right it feels so right and real but i just hope i get real stats. i play on legend on fast pitching, variable HIGH, cpu pitching ability 60 and cpu throw strikes on 20. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PITCH TO MANNYRAMIREZ!! i am getting homeruns with Trot Nixon and JOhny Damon which sucks because the AI pitch them down the middle at times and i catch them slipping....But pitch to RAMIREZ OR GARCIAPARRA please!!!

As EBXdan pointed out, you'll want to set the CPU htiting method to Standard. It doesn't know how to use Power Pro.

Mortimer.......How is the CPU hitting with the Power Pro hitting? Someone said that the CPU does not hit well when you select the Power Pro Hitting.

FP, can you answer me? I'm more familiar with a curving meter instead of a straight one.

The way it works is you need to hold down the button to start the meter and release it to stop the meter (which also makes you swing). So, on fast pitch speed, right after the pitcher releases the ball you hold the button down and then you let go when you want to swing (all the while lining up the cursor).

Sounds hard, doesnt it? That's because it is.

But... once you get it down, there is a zen to it. I dont even think about it anymore, it's become automatic. Fun, fun stuff.

Still havent hit a homer though

Oh, forgot the main part of your question:

The meter is flat (and over home plate for some stupid reason). It goes from left to right and when it hits the right edge it comes back down (staying down, it doesnt keep going after the initial time).
