Re: 2009 NBA Draft

Thabeet should fit in pretty well with OKC. He's never going to get a single touch on offense (and rightfully so) but his presence inside will help on D and I think he can get into a JV version of Paul-to-Chandler alley oops going on with Westbrook.

Athleticism tests are up> http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-...t=&pos=&sort=1

What stands out to me?
Stephen Curry with a 35.5" vertical but 3.28 on the 3/4 court sprint which is slower than Dante Cunningham, DaJuan Summers, Tyler Hansbrough, James Johnson.

I'm also impressed with Johnson's size weighing in at 257. In fact, James Johnson is very impressive. 6'8, 257, 7' wingspan, 35 inch vertical, 3.23 sprint, 18 reps on bench press.

Derrick Brown is also impressive. 6'8.5, 35.5 inch vertical, 7'2.5 wingspan (wow), 20 bench press reps, 3.13 in the 3/4 court sprint.

And dang, Austin Daye is killing his stock.

Re: 2009 NBA Draft

Nothing gets me going like the bench press results, they are always comical. Daye joins Durant in the "throwing up a doughnuts" hall of shame, though I guess Durant is kinda doing alright in the league. I was surprised Curry could get 10 reps up, more than Gerald Henderson.

AJ Price with the highest body fat %, that's pretty funny.

Re: 2009 NBA Draft

You need to be focused to really bench press what you really can. Heck Brady Quinn did like 20 reps of 225 at the NFL Combine..

I will tell you right now that Curry is not as strong as Henderson.. just like Brady Quinn isnt stronger than all the LBs and linemen that lifted less then he did.

I am not surprised at Curry's speed though.. He really isnt that fast or quick. He is going to need screens to get his shot off in the NBA duo to be so much smaller than many other #2s.

Re: 2009 NBA Draft

Benching really doesn't matter a whole lot in basketball.
