Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

I hope Lowry goes to the Spurs.

That way they'll still need a PG in the playoffs.

The Bulls have been very fortunate with their fan loyalty. They had a sellout streak that last from around 1987 until 2000. They then had another one that started with the Baby Bulls and lasted until just before Derrick Rose got here. Pretty sure attendance dropped this year, but as of July of 2015, the Bulls were leading the NBA in attendance for the sixth straight year. Reinsdorf has long held the stance that he will pay the luxury tax only if he thinks the team is capable of winning a championship.

The second three peat team wasn't disbanded over money it was disbanded because of Jerry Krause's ego. For all the good that Jerry did scouting talent and building those two championship teams around Michael, he was still a villain in this city and in that locker room because he truly believed his statement that "players and coaches don't win championships, organizations win championships."

He and Phil hated each other and he was getting rid of Phil regardless. Michael warned them if Phil was gone he was retiring. He'd been trying to get rid of Scottie Pippen since '94 when the Sonics backed out of a Kemp for Pippen deal. He tried again in '97 when he was trying to get Tracy McGrady. That team could have won at least two more championships, but Krause was eager to tear that team down to rebuild it and prove his mantra.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

Watching Raptors President Masai Ujiri give his end of season press conference.....It's like a parent scolding their kid. "I'm not mad, just disappointed", which I'm sure many know is worse than being upset. Either way, it's the most he's been with this team. Definitely see some changes coming this offseason.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

Heard that Ujiri said something about making sure to keep making the playoffs?

It would be a lot of money to pay Lowry just to make playoffs.

Heard Lowry said the only thing he cares about in signing his next deal, for which he opted out, is winning a ring.

Let's be honest, he could take a 1 or 2 year minimum deal with the Cavs or the Warriors to get a ring.

He already said nobody is closing the gap on Lebron? But he's not going to pass up a huge contract to ring chase at this stage in his career.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

What he said is that just making playoffs isn't good enough anymore.
