I get that but in all likelyhood if you had Bouldin and Fitz on your squad...how often are you looking for a checkdown to a back?

I think he was a bad fit for that team and they figured that out early and only came back to him late when they needed a fresher back. What he did in the playoffs wasn't exactly stunning either, it just gave them more balance.

I kind of agree. I think they would've passed alot no matter who was back there (outside of a select few, of course). But I don't think they went to him when they needed a fresher back. I think both Edge and Warner were in their ears about needing to have a more balanced attack if they were going to win. Remember they didn't win that many games last year. But either way, I don't think it was any fault of Edge's that his numbers were down. He's not the back he used to be but he's a better back than his numbers last year.

Re: Edge Joins The Seahawks

I think the Cards really put a lot of faith in Hightower and clearly they were wrong. That said, the Cards run blocking is a problem and has been for a long time now, so no matter who you put back there that guy is going to have some struggles. I don't see that issue being rectified this year.

The Seahawks bottom really fell out when Shaun Alexander broke into pieces. Julius Jones is just not a special player (and it pains me to say that being such a big follower of Irish Football over the years), and I don't care for Forsett. Edge is just a measure to bring some veteran presence to that RB core and help build for the future, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him wind up starting sometime around mid-season just because the other guys aren't that good.

We should of cut Jones too...Forsett is the only one who can do anything.

Ok a lil harsh, I just think Forsett needs more touches.

Re: Edge Joins The Seahawks

Eh well, Edge had nothing to prove. He helped build a SB franchise (Colts) and held spearhead a SB appearance (Cards). The guy has insane stats, respect, and probably best of all he still has his health. It'd be nice to see him picked up by a contender but if he has to hang it up today he'd definitely belong in the Hall of Very Good.

I think Edge is done, I mean when you get released that quick after you got signed to a 1 year deal thats pretty bad. I hope he does get work and everything but, I think Its a wrap.

Yea it was almost sad seeing him play with seattle..he has lost all of his explosion and what little speed he had..He was still good at blitz pickup but you cant get paid 2mil a year for doing that...I always hoped he would go back to Indy for one last run..and this would be the year to do it..especially with Brown hurt...
