Seattle Seahawks sign Edgerrin James to a one year contract.

Not a great regular season for James last year, but he definitely seemed to step up and take control of the ground in the playoffs. I'm surprised it took him this long to find a team. Obviously, he's not the same as he was with Peyton & Co in Indianapolis, but I think he still has something left in the tank. We'll see what happens this year.

So I heard. They oughta add Dunn and just drop Duckett and Jones. Forsett's their future, anyway.

Of course, Dunn and Edge are old elusive backs, but who knows? They might have a tad left in the tank.

They cut him today.

Hmmm, I would've rather seen him go to a Super Bowl contender. I'd like him to get a ring before he retires. And honestly there for awhile I thought he was coming back to the Colts. He wasn't happy in 'Zona and I know how Polian is with bringing guys back. Heck, who knows maybe Marvin will be back. lol. But regardless, I hope he plays good for them.

Re: Edge Joins The Seahawks

Not a bad pick up for the Seahawks as long as they ignore his complaining and limit his touches to keep him fresh legged.

Honestly, Edge didn't really complain until late in the season and it seemed rightfully so. Once they listened to him and changed the gameplan in the playoffs, they went to the SB with him playing a big role.

I've heard backing up Jones. Knowing Jones, Edge will be the starter by week 5.

Its the NFL...anybody is a Super Bowl contender anymore. Hell, if last year's Dolphins can win the East and Cardinals can make the Super Bowl, the Seahawks certainly can contend. However, I am worried the Hawks are following last year's path. They were decimated by injuries more than any team in modern NFL history. Already they've lost Trufant, Walter Jones, Spencer, and Wahle to significant injury.

Re: Edge Joins The Seahawks

If I'm Seattle, I still go with the pass-happy west coast offense and split carries between Julius and Edge. Limit them to like 10 carries a game each and come playoff time, they'll be fresh.

I don't recall Edge being all that effective early and then they came back to him late in the season. The load was being carried by other guys and he was able to stay fresh. If he's smart he'll pull back and make fewer touches count more.
