Dumb move.

Malcolm Floyd has shown the abilty to make big plays and be a big time WR. But what he hasn't shown is the ability to stay healthy for long periods of time. We are a Floyd injury away from having Buster Davis as our slot guy.

Do you even remember the last time Davis took the field? I can't. Another beautiful draft choice by AJ.

Heres the reason why the chargers dropped CC.

In seven games this season, Chambers caught nine passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. Both Floyd (11 catches, 251 yards), who started in Chambers’ place Sunday against the Raiders, and Naanee (13-122) have surpassed Chambers in production this season, and Turner said that special teams ace Kassim Osgood can also be more involved in the offense.

I didn't know Applewhite was done for the year. Tim Dobbins is out for 2-3 weeks, Burnett has missed 2 weeks, and there both some of the best on our special teams. No wonder the special teams has sucked *ss lately. Siler who is another good special teams guy has been forced to play defense since Dobbins went down.

Looks like we'll be seeing a little bit of Osgood in the offense now. Turners Quote-“If we have a decision to make and it’s between a fifth receiver and a guy that can go down and cover kicks and punts, it’s going to be the guy who can cover kicks and punts,” Turner said. “We can play with four receivers.”

“I think so much of him and that makes these things difficult,” Turner said. “ He’s given great effort on the practice field. It’s where we need to go as a football team.”

Still a dumb move given Floyd's brittleness and the fact Osgood has never shown himself to be a very good receiver.

Just more of the same from an inepct front office.

It definitely makes more sense now, even though his production definitely played a roll in his departure. If I had to choose someone I probably would have cut him too. I mean I knew alot of guys were hurt on defense but, jeez.

Edit: I still think its 50/50. Your losing something but, chances are your gaining something out of this also. I guess the only thing you can do is hope he doesn't get hurt.

Cheifs claim CC off waivers, just seen it on ESPN. Wow didn't think he'd be going to a different team in the same division. I figured he'd try to get back with the dolphins but, there may be some bad blood between CC and chargers now. Who knows!?

How often does things like this happen? The Chiefs are stockpiling old receivers I guess. They had Toomer at one point and they have Engram,Wade....at least Chambers is a little better than those guys.

Baltimore or Miami would have been much better choices. At least he would actually have a chance to make the playoffs on one of those teams.

Yeah thats what I was thinking but, he may be looking to get back at the chargers!? Or maybe the cheifs just had the better deal out of what he wanted as he is nearing the end of his career but, a playoff team sounds alot better.

Re: Chargers release wide receiver Chris Chambers

There's nothing to say Baltimore or Miami (or anybody else) wanted him. We were just throwing names out there in here.
