Chargers release wide receiver Chris Chambers

Is this good or bad that the chargers released CC? Charger fans/other what do you think bout this move?

IMO I think its 50/50 because, you lose a good route runner. He can still catch even though he's dropped some things that should have been caught. He is old though and he's not the player he was when the chargers picked CC up. The chargers have pretty good and young depth at that position with Floyd, Naanee(or however you spell it), Davis, and Jackson.

Flyod started over CC in the Raiders game last sunday, and was told he was going to be rotating and he went to the public saying he did not get enough playing time. Flyod has developed into a decent receiver and is a decent deep threat especially one on one. I appreciate what CC gave us but, It was obvious that Flyod is coming into his own to overtake CC with his big play ability.

I'd agree that it's about 50/50 at this point. I'm not sure what to think of it. I think Chambers still has some juice left, maybe? Interesting move though no doubt.

Watch the Patriots grab him off waivers and have him shine as their slot guy...

Come back, Chris. We need someone to play WR.

Me either, I'm thinking It will play out good for the chargers because, Flyod definitely has a big play ability and good hands. Naanee will get more playing time, and there won't won't be a receiver out there under 6'0 foot. Davis is 6'1 but he can't ever stay healthy enough to play but, he's been healthy lately just hasn't had any playing time. I think CC still has some juice left too but, he just hasn't made that many big plays and production.

Theres alot of talent to throw to and Its hard to get the ball to others with everything Rivers has to throw to. I'm thinking that either CC wanted this or this is just looking toward for the future type move. Either way we just lost a good receiver.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him pull a Jason Taylor and come back to Miami. I expect that more than anything else.

Re: Chargers release wide receiver Chris Chambers

I agree the Miami thing is a possibility and definitely a good fit for both sides.

This is kind of a surprise but at the same time it isn't. After we cut Clinton Hart and won 2 straight I figured we were done making moves but I guess not.

I'm not really against the move but at the same you lose depth at receiver. Malcolm Floyd looked pretty good yesterday so its not going to be too big of a loss. Legedu Naane is a solid possession receiver too so we should be alright at receiver for the season. Also with Phillip back there it shouldn't be much of an issue as long as the receivers do their part catching the ball.

We will have to go out and get another WR, IMO, in the offseason be it from the draft, free agency or trade unless one of these guys other than Vincent starts to tear it up. I think its possible Floyd could do that but we'll see.
