    Manual Control of Receiver

I have always enjoyed in other football games taking immediate control of the receiver and attempting to be the one to make the catch.

I am finding with R&L that it is a bit difficult to do that (Using R&L Unlocked) all the time.

The receiver slows down a tad (jogs?) after taking control so you have to Sprint immediately to make it to the intersection of the pass. Also the button to switch to the receiver after the throw, seems to be a bit unresponsive. Or is it switching but the animation to catch has already taken over?

Anyway, I have found that I have MUCH better passing success if I only concentrate on placing the throw where it needs to be and letting the receiver do his thing automatically (for now).

The receiving AI does a great job to get to the ball, but it takes a little excitement away from me, although it makes me feel more like a QB .

I figure if I can play with (mostly) auto-catching only using it when I need to (sprint/dive/Jump etc) that I can complete more passes. Hopefully as I become better at R&L I will have more ability to ALSO handle the receiving duties.

What about you guys?.....do you try to always catch it manually or let the AI catch it?

i don't yet have the game but can you tell me if after taking control of the receiver a highlited circle comes on him so you know for sure your controlling him (like in madden or 2k), in the first fever game for xbox even after you took control of the receiver it was hard to tell if you were actually controlling him or not because no curser would be highlited on him

I find that letting the receiver make the catch himself is a 50/50 gamble. The problem is, the AI defenders have a much quicker burst, and it's like every receiver is a rookie that doesn't know he needs to fight for position for a ball, resulting in a lot of swats that could have been avoided. I try to take control, but even when the circle shows up, half the time he doesn't respond. I don't know, I just concentrate more on getting the throw to more open players and letting the AI catch it.
