Sliding/Skating? WTF??

I've dug through several old posts and through the wishlists and I've run across people with issues about supposed player 'skating'. For the life of me I can't figure out what kind of drugs I need to take in order to see this!! Can someone please help me out here? I have Madden and 2k3 and nothing I do on any play or replay ever shows a player 'drifting' without moving their feet. Am I missing something?

I've actually seen it once in 2k3. I think it was during an audible or something and the blitzing man did a Spike Lee float towards the LOS. As usual, people criticizing the game blew it way out of proportion. Even if it were a regular occurance it's still not as bad as the "freeze dancing" blitzers of madden so I don't know what all the complaining was about. I was expecting much worse.

That's totally nuts dude! I believe you but it's just amazing the massive chunk of my life that this game absorbs and I've never seen it even once!!! I guess I'm slacking. Maybe it's time to quit my job to get more gametime in.

I think the "skating" thing people refer to in 2k3 is the lack of smoothness in going from running to tackling animations. I play 2k3 all the time as well and don't have a problem with it, but there is a lack of smoothness at times in the animations (at least on the PS2).

I have only seen it once so far. I made a tackle and as the guys were laying on the field they just "slid" about 5 yards across the field. I did a replay and it showed up there as well. It was good for a laugh but I haven't seen it happen since then and it certainly didn't make me want to quit playing.

The only real issue I have with 2K3's control is the "LOOP" maneuver any player will make when you pull back on the analog stick...it doesnt feel very fluid and often happens at the wrong time and leaves me with a split second of lack of control.....I think they need to tweak that area of control...small tweak but it would make a nice difference in the feel of control
