Re: The Transfer Thread

I am on the fence when it comes to Suarez.

On one hand I am sick to death of his constant diving, waving his arms in disgust at the linesman on every challenge. Every tackle is not a foul Luis! Not to mention the biting, racism, abuse to officials, you name it. The bottom line is, he misses too many games through suspension. He's already going to miss the first 6 games of next season if he's still here.

On the other hand, where are we going to get another 30+ goal scorer from? The aren't falling from the trees. I expect us to get around 30-40 million for him but how many replacement players in that price bracket would want to come to Anfield? There is no enticement of Champion's league football. Heck, we can't even give them Europa league.

I'm swaying towards selling him. If we can't attract a world class goal scorer who can give us 30+ goals, I will settle for buying 2 or 3 (Aspas being one) solid players to help Sturridge with the goal load. I'm not convinced of Borini, he is not EPL standard in my books. It's getting to the point where Suarez is more of a liability than an asset. No one is bigger then the club. Let's sell and move on.

Welcome to the world of South American futbol.

I love the guy, that's obvious. He is a fellow Uruguayan so I root for him on the club and international level. I don't appreciate his antics but I hope that level of production would stay with the club. He is one of those guys who would leave a hole on this team that is irreplaceable. He is no Ronaldo or Messi, but he is certainly directly in the tier under them and in my opinion one of the 5 best players in the BPL.

Re: The Transfer Thread

If he goes, he might be the first player to ever leave two clubs while suspended for biting an opponent

I would hope he would. That would be an absurd record to be repeated.

Re: The Transfer Thread

Sounds like Benteke has a lot of people sniffing around him, but I'm not sure he is ready to leave quite yet.

Also, Villa has had a fee agreed for Aleksander Tonev.
