I just finished up my 2nd season (1st full) in charge of Espanyol. I finished 9th (preseason prediction had me at 10th), with 2 places and 1 point separating me from a UEFA/Europa Cup spot. I had the 2nd leading scorer in the league in that of Jose Maria Callejon; he made
huge improvements this season and was absolutely amazing to watch (he had 7 goals in his last 4 games, including a hattrick). I had a chance to make my way up the table, but I got hammered at Mallorca in the 2nd to last game of the season, 5-2, and a 5-1 thumping of Valladolid in the last game couldn't advance my position in the table to overtake Sevilla (8th), Betis (7th), or Getafe (6th). As for Serbia, I just beat Latvia 4-1 away. Earlier, I had a 1-0 result over Germany and a tough to swallow 2-1 defeat to the defending WC champions, Czech Republic. I'm sitting in 2nd in the Euro Qualifiers and look good for my money to qualify at the moment, even though there is a lot of footy to be played.
