Yeah I think Ichiro is a great player and sure hall of famer. IMO, I think Mauer is a better hitter.

Another interesting stat comparison between the two is strikeouts and walks. Here is the 09 breakdown:
Mauer:
SO 63
BB 76

Ichiro:
SO 71
BB 32

As you can see Mauer has walked more than struckout. That is quite an accomplishment.
