thank GOD im not alone, and i appreciate u guys' feedback...
so anyway, i just played the game again. this time i just moved my dynasty onto my memory card...low and behold, no freezes. so now its looking like the game just has issues cooperating with hard drives because all my other games have never given me any problems. i suggest u guys just try using the memory card from now on.
