You used to be able to take CPU opponents with you on your round. But EA removed that feature from the series around the same time they axed the custom CPU playbooks from Madden. I'm pretty sure they do stuff like that so that we as gamers don't become complacent and start expecting an over-abundance of creativity, innovation and realism with these games.
