Re: tyklug2013's Fictional Draft Class(es) - Xbox360
Haven't posted in this in a while, but I have just finished my second class.
FICTIONAL DRAFT CLASS #2
National Championship Game: Kansas defeats Duke 71 to 67
Point Guard
Spoiler
PG Class Grade: A-
Tennessee's freshman point guard, Sasa Schumacher, nearly lead the cinderella Volunteers to the Final Four, but were beat by the eventual champions, the Kansas Jayhawks, due to a buzzer beater by star forward A.C. Fortson. Fortson and Schumacher attended high school together, where they dominated their way to 3 state championships in Kansas. Fortson was heavily recruited by the Jayhawks, but Schumacher wasn't even looked at by Kansas. They felt that their starting point guard, Nick Blackwell, was the better player, and Schumacher would get buried on the depth chart. The decision would nearly come back to haunt them, as Schumacher almost single-handedly defeated the Jayhawks in the Sweet Sixteen. An excellent attacker and defender, look for Schumacher to potentially go in the Top 10.
Stats: 21.4 PPG, 5.7 APG, 3.8 RPG. FG%: 52%. 3PT%: 34%
Physical Attributes: 6'3", 205 lbs, 19 years old
When one looks at Michigan's Percy Turner, they see a lanky kid who looks like he should be working at your local grocery store. However, Turner can certainly ball. Being the star player for the Wolverines, Turner had to adapt his play style to the rest of the team. In high school, he was a scorer and played off-ball very often. However, at Michigan, he found himself with the ball more often than not. He struggled to begin the year, as he tried to gel with his teammates, but he eventually began to dominate like everyone thought he would. He developed great court vision, and can find the open man easily. His outside shooting improved as well, and he became a more capable defender than people would have imagined. Turner might potentially be the best prospect in the draft this year, so don't be surprised to see him wind up in the Top 3.
Stats: 18.7 PPG, 7.2 APG, 2.1 SPG. FG%: 48%. 3PT% 40.1%
Physical Attributes: 6'3", 191 lbs, 19 years old
Other Notable Point Guards
Dwayne Edwards, Point Guard, Georgia. 5'10", 164 lbs, 21 years old. Season Averages: 10.1 PPG, 8.3 APG, FG%: 52.3%, 3PT%: 28%.
Rex Anthony, Point Guard, Ohio. 6'3", 188 lbs, 21 years old. Season Averages: 20.3 PPG, 3.2 APG, FG%: 45%, 3PT%: 43.8%
Niko Vugrinec, Point Guard, Ukraine. 6'0", 171 lbs, 19 years old. Season Averages: 14.8 PPG, 5.3 APG, FG%: 51.1%, 3PT% 34%
Shooting Guard
Spoiler
SG Class Grade: A
Duke sophomore Dell Wise was without a doubt the star player for the Blue Devils. The 6'3" combo guard was thrown into the point guard position when recruit Niko Vugrinec was ruled ineligible for the season. Wise later went on to say that this was one of the best things that could ever happen to him, as he said it helped him show his versatility to NBA scouts. Wise's ability to play both the 1 and 2 should be incredibly valuable to NBA teams in the future. He is a lights-out shooter that can take over the reigns of the offense and guide them to victory, which he almost did in the National Championship.
Stats: 19.3 PPG, 6.1 APG, FG%: 47.3%, 3PT%: 41.4%
Physical Attributes: 6'3", 185 lbs, 20 years old
Louisville sophomore Lewis Brady won Player of the Year honors after his legendary season with the Cardinals. In a season where Louisville only lost 3 times, Brady scored 26.2 PPG and lead the team to a Final Four finish, as they were nudged out by the Duke Blue Devils. Despite the disappointing finish, Brady has nothing to be ashamed of. Though he wasn't highly recruited out of high school, Brady had an excellent freshman year, averaging 18.3 PPG. He turned that success into an even greater year this year. Will he be the number 1 pick? There are certainly plenty of teams that could use a player like Lewis Brady.
Stats: 26.2 PPG, 3.8 APG, 5.3 RPG, 2.1 BPG, 3.3 SPG, FG%: 54%, 3PT%: 34%

Michael Moss, Shooting Guard, Creighton. 6'8", 217 lbs, 23 years old. Season Averages: 24.2 PPG, FG%: 47.7%, 3PT%: 43.2%
Gerard Levingston, Shooting Guard, Ohio State. 6'7", 203 lbs, 19 years old. Season Averages: 19.8 PPG, FG%: 42.8%, 3PT%: 37.8%
Small Forward
Spoiler
SF Class Grade: C
In a relatively weak small forward class, the mysterious Russian, Vlade Stojic, seems to be the top prospect. Stojic stands at a staggering 7'0", and can run the floor with ease. Stojic dominated in pro leagues overseas, and he looks to do the same in the NBA. The knock on Stojic seems to be his lack of strength for his size, which makes it difficult at times to move him down the 4, but he can make the transition pretty smoothly. The NBA can never use enough bigs who can play the 3, 4, and 5, and that's exactly what Stojic brings to the table.
Stats: 18.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 3.1 APG, 4.3 BPG, FG%: 54%, 3PT%: 34%
Physical Attributes: 7'0", 224 lbs, 19 years old
Other Notable Small Forwards
Abe Warner, Small Forward, Indiana. 6'7", 234 lbs, 22 years old. Season Averages: 20.1 PPG, FG%: 49.3%, 3PT%: 33.3%
Jordan Grove, Small Forward, North Carolina. 6'8", 226 lbs, 19 years old. Season Averages: 16.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.3 BPG, 2.5 SPG, FG%: 43%
A.C. Fortson, Small Forward, Kansas. 6'10", 231 lbs, 19 years old. Season Averages: 17.3 PPG, 5.7 RPG, FG%: 46.3%, 3PT%: 41.2%
Power Forward
Spoiler
PF Class Grade: B-
Kentucky freshman Jonathan Williams follows a long line of NBA prospects using the "one-and-done" system at Kentucky. Williams, however, is one of the few NBA-ready prospects to come out of Kentucky this year, but boy is he a good one. Williams is ultra-athletic and can finish on just about anybody inside. Though he is very raw, Williams is a force inside and should be a top prospect this year in the draft.
Stats: 19.3 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 2.1 BPG, FG%: 57.5%
Physical Attributes: 6'9", 247 lbs, 19 years old
Kansas forward Trent Rivers was never highly touted coming out of high school, but following his big game against Duke in the National Championship, look for Rivers' draft stock to soar. In the NC game, Rivers recorded 19 points, 23 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 4 steals. Rivers isn't the biggest, strongest, or fastest guy on the court, but he hustles and can hit shots. He knows his role, and that's what scouts love about him. Rivers is a can't-miss prospect for teams looking to add the last piece to a contender.
Stats: 12.1 PPG, 9.3 RPG, FG%: 51.3%, 3PT%: 38.7%
Physical Attributes: 6'8", 226 lbs, 20 years old.
Other Notable Power Forwards
Lloyd Elliot, Power Forward, Butler. 6'10", 266 lbs, 21 years old. Season Averages: 16.4 PPG, 10.1 RPG, FG% 56.3%
Quincy Owens, Power Forward, Penn State. 6'10", 234 lbs, 21 years old. Season Averages: 19.3 PPG, 10.3 RPG, FG%: 47.7%, 3PT%: 33.6%
Center
Spoiler
C Class Grade: D+
The center position is easily the weakest of the draft, but Sweden's Felix Haston looks to emerge as the top talent from the draft. More of a power forward than a center, Haston has been forced to play the 5 more often than the 4 due to his size. At 7'0", 242 lbs, Haston is a lights-out shooter with great touch around the rim. Felix is also a more-than-capable rebounder, though his defense needs some work. Haston has the potential to be an all-star, regardless of what position he is placed at.
Stats: 20.1 PPG, 9.2 RPG, FG%: 47.3%, 3PT%: 38.4%
Physical Attributes: 7'0", 242 lbs, 19 years old
Other Notable Centers
Rasheed Ellis, Center, Kansas. 6'11", 272 lbs, 19 years old. Season Averages: 9.8 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 2.7 BPG, FG%: 62%
David Givens, Center, Syracuse. 7'1", 267 lbs, 20 years old. Season Averages: 8.4 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 4.2 BPG, FG%: 56%
Corey Mobley, Center, Florida. 6'11", 289 lbs, 20 years old. Season Averages: 16.8 PPG, 7.9 RPG, FG%: 53.3%
