We have exclusive news on the upcoming brand split just hours prior to the draft beginning on RAW tonight and continuing on SMACKdown later this week.
Each Brand will have their own champions. The World Champions will be assigned to a show but the World Title will be defended on both shows. The World Title will be required to be defended once a month against whomever is the current brand champions are at the time.
All brand titles are required to be defended once a month.
We will also be introducing something called Championship Series months. During the Championship Series months all titles on each brand will be defended 3 times in the month. Once will be defended against the #1 contender at the PPV. Once will be defended against the winner of a fatal 4-way pitting the top 4 ranked guys. Once will be defended against someone of the GMs choice. Two title defenses will take place on TV while the 3rd at the PPV. If a champion loses their title during the month they are not automatically granted a rematch during the month. The rematch is at the GMs discretion depending on when the title is lost.
During the course of a year there will be 4 interbrand PPVs (Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summer Slam, and Survivor Series) and each brand will also have some PPVs of their own. The number of brand PPVs has not been determined yet.
